Fund-raising opportunity for youth-oriented groups
A new book based on the images and discoveries by the Hubble Telescope is now available to youth orientated non-profit groups to raise funds and help inspire young people in the study of astronomy in 2009 in conjunction with the “International Year of Astronomy.”
Author Paul Hutchins in his book The Secret Doorway; Beyond Imagination, reveals how Galileo, in the 17th century turned his newly improved telescope to the night sky, and was stunned to find a once Secret doorway, that had been hidden for thousands of years to a world beyond our imagination, we now call the universe.
The United Nations has declared 2009 the “International Year of Astronomy.” It marks 400 years since Galileo first used the telescope to study the night sky. The aim of the IYA2009 is to stimulate worldwide interest, especially among young people, in astronomy and science under the central theme “The Universe, Yours to Discover”.
This international event will generate a great deal of media coverage on the subject of astronomy that will be focused on the youth of the world.
This once in a lifetime event presents an excellent opportunity to draw attention to -on-profit organizations dedicated to helping young people. As the author of the new book The Secret Doorway; Beyond Imagination, and once a troubled youth himself, Hutchins says he is in a unique position to give support to non-profits dedicated to helping young people by making his book, and positive message, youth directed cosmic posters available for raising funds for their cause.
This program would serve four purposes. First, it would bring awareness to non-profits dedicated to the well-being of young people. Second, it would provide tens of thousands of dollars for their cause. Third, it would provide young people with positive message posters that encourage them to use their imagination to achieve their dreams. Lastly, it would give those who have a few dollars to spare, an educational book filled with awe-inspiring photos taken by the Hubble telescope and a reader friendly overview of how our incredible universe came about, as photographed by modern day space telescopes.
In cinematic fashion and simple layman terms, Hutchins in his color illustrated book presents a real-life drama-one page at a time-with each page telling its own story of how our incredible universe was formed as seen through awe-inspiring images now being transmitted from space by the Hubble telescope.
