Cheryl Fausel, watercolor artist, and Vic Baisley, woodturner, are the visiting artists featured in January at the Harbour View Gallery, Unit 104, at Cape Harbour Marina South.
An opening exhibition reception for Fausel and Baisley will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the gallery on Tuesday, Jan. 6. Refreshments will be served.

Rising Stars Art Gallery
Dana Rudolph is currently showing her exquisite jewelry creations at Rising Stars Art Gallery in Cape Coral.
Rudolph has been designing and making jewelry for over 30 years in addition to pursuing her artistic vision in sculpture and drawing. She has recently moved to Port Charlotte from Troy, NY where she owned an award winning jewelry and bead business. She was professor of art at the Sage Colleges in Albany, N.Y.
Cape Coral Art League
Cape Coral Art League presents: Art Thru The Lens, Jan. 8 through Jan. 30.
This is an open show, and one does not need to be a Cape Coral Art League member to attend. Media must be created by the artist in photography. No digitally altered or graphic art will be accepted at this show.

Alliance for the Arts
Lee County Alliance for the Arts announces their extended holiday hours. The gallery and gift shop will be open Dec. 26th, 27th, 29th, 30th, 31st and Jan. 2nd, and 3rd. Stop by and check out Al Oerter, artist and athlete, in the main gallery, and Sandra Talaga in the member gallery. Purchase a hand crafted ornament from the Alliance ‘s real tree. Over 100 handmade ornaments were made by local artists to sell in the first annual holiday ornament show and sale. Saturday, Jan. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. marks the Lee County Alliance of the Arts 6th annual event, Walk Through the Arts. This free family arts showcase is jam-packed with fun for all ages. There will be hands-on kids activities, artist demonstrations, prize drawings, live performances and information about arts and culture opportunities in Lee County. This year at Walk Through the Arts, take a stroll around the Alliance campus and enjoy live performances. Fort Myers Art Fair
Howard Alan Events,the county ‘s largest producer of art festivals, is bringing a fine-juried art fair to Fort Myers on Jan. 3rd and 4th. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
The artists will line the Bell Tower Shops with their professional display booths. The public can meet and talk with the artists personally. Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. FGCU Art Gallery
Florida Gulf Coast University Art Gallery invites the public to an opening reception for “Man Made” exhibition featuring the environmental art of Mary Ellen Croteau from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 8, at the Art Gallery. The exhibition runs through Feb. 7, and is free and open to the public.

Poets and writers at the Bean
The end of the year 2008 will be celebrated Friday ,Dec. 26, between the hours of 4 and 6 p.m., with a Holiday Open Mic reading at The Bean on Sanibel. Open Mic readings are informal. The only retirements are that performers sign the Reader ‘s List and limit their reading time to five minutes. Anyone who does not choose to read is welcome to listen.
