North Fort Myers
Meals on Wheels
More North Fort Myers volunteers are needed, as it is a huge service area for two of the Community Cooperative Ministries, Inc. (CCMI)programs:
Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver meals to 60-plus clients on six routes in North Fort Myers. That represents one-fifth of the meals we deliver in Lee County. The program is designed for those who are primarily homebound and can’t prepare a nutritious, hot meal on a daily basis or don’t have regular help to do that.
-Senior Transportation volunteers drive those over age 60 to the doctor, dentist, grocery shopping, etc. The service is a real lifeline for those without transportation who want to be able to remain independent – they need door-to-door service and can’t afford the other transportation options.
The common thread in both of these programs is the contact that our volunteers have with the clients of theses services. For too many of our clients, that may be the only regular outside contact they have.
For more information call 239-332-0441.
