Lake Kennedy Senior Center
The Lake Kennedy Senior Center, 400 Santa Barbara Blvd., presents:
– Thursday: A trip to Orlando for Ice at the Gaylord Palms Resort/Festival Bay Mall in Orlando. Arrive at the center by 8:15 a.m. and leave at 8:30 a.m. Lunch is Dutch treat at Festival Bay Mall. Cost is $75 per person for members and $85 per person for non-members. Reservations are required.
– Dec. 30: A trip to Sarasota. There will be a homestyle lunch at the Sugar & Spice Restaurant then a stroll around St. Armand’s Circle. Leave from the center at 9:45 a.m. Cost is $55 per person for members and $65 per person for non-members. Reservations are required.
– Mondays: Bridge with Mary Greico from 10 a.m.-noon. Strictly beginners bridge, part II. Cost is $24 for members for six classes and $48 for non-members for six classes. Review the basics.
– Fridays: Advanced beginners-intermediate bridge from 10 a.m.-noon. Cost is $4 per person for members and $8 per person for non-members.

Holiday Harmony
Holiday Harmony will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cape Coral Cultural Park Theatre. Holiday Harmony is a professional cappella caroling group. Dressed in festive Victorian costumes, they will greet theater patrons with beautiful arrangements of favorite traditional and contemporary holiday carols prior to the performance of “Our Christmas Revue,” which begins at 8 p.m. Holiday Harmony is available for business parties, private parties, wedding receptions, restaurants, hotels and shopping centers throughout the holiday season.
‘The Promise of Christmas’
Nabbie’s Inc., a performing arts school in Cape Coral, will perform “The Promise of Christmas” concert at 7 p.m. Sunday in the sanctuary at Christ Lutheran Church. Admission is free. Donations and food items will be accepted for the Cape Coral Caring Center.
Tony Rotino Senior Center
The tony Rotino Senior Center, 5817 Driftwood Parkway, presents:
– Dec. 28: A holiday trip to the Ritz Carlton Hotel with high tea and shopping. Depart from the center at 11 a.m. Includes a brief sojourn to Tin City for some after-Christmas bargains, transportation, all taxes and gratuities and an escort. Cost is $60 per person for members and $70 per person for non-members. Reservations are required.
– Dec. 25: Christmas brunch: Staff at the center invite everyone to spend Christmas morning with them and rejoice in the splendor of the holidays. Sing carols and enjoy coffee, tea and breakfast goodies at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome. Free to those who register. A donation of at least one non-perishable food item is requested for those in need. Reservations required by Saturday.
– Second Saturday of every month: Indoor flea market from 8 a.m.-noon. Free for spectators and shoppers. Cost for vendors is $20 per 8-foot table. Vendors set up at 6:30 a.m.

‘Pinocchio’
Broadway Palm Children’s Theatre presents “Pinocchio” on today, Wednesday, Friday, Tuesday and Dec. 26. This timeless classic of honesty and respect is perfect family entertainment.
Broadway Palm Children’s Theatre presents full-scale productions. All performances begin with a buffet at noon and show time at 1 p.m. Or lunch at 10:30 a.m with an 11:30 a.m. show.

Holiday House
Holiday House is a local institution presented every Christmas by the Fort Myers Women’s Community Club. For the first time, the showcase of elaborate decorations and displays will be presented from 5-9 p.m. today-Saturday at the Burroughs and Langford/Kingston houses. This is a rare opportunity to visit both houses. Tickets are $5. Children under 12 are free. Parking available for a donation next door at First United Methodist Church, 2466 First St., Fort Myers. ‘A Christmas Carol’

‘Christmas Across the Lands’
Randy Sherwyn, program director of Sunny 106 WJPT-FM and 106.3 HD2, a Beasley Broadcast radio station located in Southwest Florida, will host the 9th annual “Christmas Across the Lands,” a 12-hour radio Christmas show that airs mainly on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in markets across America and overseas. This year the show will be heard by military personnel stationed in more than 175 countries around the globe. Locally, Christmas Across the Lands will be broadcast on Beasley’s Southwest Florida radio stations, B103.9 WXKB-FM, Sunny 106 WJPT-FM and 96 K-Rock WRXK-FM.

Holiday open mic reading
The end of 2008 will be celebrated with a holiday open mic reading from 4-6 p.m. Dec. 26 at The Bean. Open mic readings are informal. The only requirements are that performers sign the reader’s list and limit their reading time to five minutes. Anyone who does not choose to read is welcome to listen.
