Blood pressure checks

The Cape Coral Hospital Auxiliary conducts blood pressure tests every Thursday from 1-3 p.m. in the hospital main lobby. For information, call 574-0206.

Alcoholics Anonymous

For information about meeting times and addresses in Cape Coral and the rest of Lee County, call the Lee County Area Intergroup Central Office in Fort Myers at 275-5111. Diabetes Support Group of SW Florida

The Diabetes Support Group of Southwest Florida, in conjunction with Lee Diabetes Care of Lee Memorial Health System, meets at 9:30 a.m. the second Thursday of each month at the Cape Coral Hospital L.I.F.E. Center, 636 Del Prado Blvd. The meetings are free, although monetary donations are accepted. Coffee and sugar free snacks are served. Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous

Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous is a 12-step program for individuals suffering from food obsession, overeating, under eating and bulimia. No dues, fees or weigh-ins. Multiple Sclerosis support groups

The Multiple Sclerosis support group meets from 3-4:30 p.m. on the first Sunday of each month at Cape Coral Hospital, Meeting Room A. For information, call Rick at 541-0268 or Kevin at 542-2549.

The Multiple Sclerosis support group also meets at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month at St. Hilary’s Episcopal Church, 5011 McGregor Blvd. Fort Myers. For information, call 574-4271.

The Lee County Military Family Support meets at 3 p.m. on the fourth Sunday of every month at the Bob Evans on Del Prado Boulevard. For information, call 214-1727.

Parkinson’s support group

The Parkinson’s support group meets at 2 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month at Cape Coral Hospital Life Center. For information, call Jeanne Csuy at 931-8838.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Fibromyalgia

The Southwest Florida Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Fibromyalgia support group meets from 10:30 a.m.-noon on the third Saturday of each month at Cape Coral Hospital, 636 Del Prado Blvd.

Take Off Pounds Sensibly

Take Off Pounds Sensibly, or TOPS, meets at 7 p.m. every Thursday in the Asbury Room at Cape Coral First United Methodist Church, 4118 Coronado Parkway. For information, call 542-4051.

TOPS also meets from 9:30-10:30 a.m. every Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, 7401 Winkler Road, Room 4.

Fort Myers

Man to Man

Many prostate cancer patients are helping others through an American Cancer Society program called Man to Man. Man to Man volunteers hold free monthly meetings where men support each other and exchange information throughout the cancer experience. For information, call 800-227-2345.

Amputee Support Club

The Amputee Support Group meets twice a month at Lee Memorial Hospital. It is a support group for recent or longtime amputees. Anyone may attend, amputees and caregivers especially. For information, call Bob Nagle at 464-6420.

Abuse, Counseling and Treatment

ACT offers the following support groups:

n Sexual assault support group: Support groups and individual counseling for adult survivors of sexual assault/abuse.

n Domestic violence: Support groups and individual counseling for adult victims of emotional, verbal or physical abuse.

New Voice Club of Southwest Florida

The New Voice Club of Southwest Florida is a support group serving laryngectomee survivors in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Estero, Bonita Springs and Naples. The club meets at 1 p.m. on the first Friday of each month in the medical staff conference room at Lee Memorial Hospital, 2776 Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers. For information, call 454-8766.
