Many Blessings
For the holiday season, Many Blessings owner Maria Sanz is asking residents to bring in cans or non-perishable items in exchange for a free psychic reading from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at 1059 N.E. Pine Island Road. Several psychic readers will donate their time at the event to help those who are less fortunate. The local caring center is low on items such as cereal, jelly (grape and strawberry preferably), canned fruits, spaghetti sauce, spaghetti noodles, canned chicken and beef, hearty soup, baked beans/pork and beans, canned tomatoes/tomato sauce, rice (one-pound or two-pound bags,) bar soap, toilet paper and diapers. Fafco Solar
Fafco Solar, 901 S.E. 13th Place, is an official drop off location for the Harry Chapin Food Bank. It collected 137 pounds of non-perishable food, plus a turkey and monetary donations, for Thanksgiving. It is continuing to collect for Christmas. Fafco Solar is open Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. It is accepting non-perishable food items including canned fruit and vegetables, peanut butter, rice, canned meat, cereal and pasta. VIP Realty Group, VIP Vacation Rentals

Holiday Carol
Residents can celebrate the holidays at an old-fashioned singalong and help feed the hungry at the Holiday Carol sing Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Fort Myers. Admission is at least two cans of non-perishable food for The Soup Kitchen, operated by the Community Cooperative Ministries, and a voluntary cash donation. For information, call 332-7687.
