Caron graduates from basic combat training
Army Pvt. Jonathan R. Caron has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.
Caron is the son of Buzz Caron of Fort Myers, and brother of Jacki Caron of Cape Coral.
The private is a 2004 graduate of Cypress Lake High School, Fort Myers.
Hart returns after
Iraq deployment
Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Gary A. Hart has returned to the Joint Intelligence Command Pacific, Naval Air Station, Fort Worth, Texas, after being deployed to an overseas forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Operation Iraqi Freedom is the official name given to military operations involving members of the U.S. armed forces and coalition forces participating in efforts to free and secure Iraq. Mission objectives focus on force protection, peace-keeping, stabilization, security and counter-insurgency operations as the Iraqi transitional governing bodies assume full sovereign powers to govern the peoples of Iraq.
Members from all branches of the U.S. military and multinational forces are also assisting in rebuilding Iraq’s economic and governmental infrastructure, and training and preparing Iraqi military and security forces to assume full authority and responsibility in defending and preserving Iraq’s sovereignty and independence as a democracy.
Hart, a human resources sergeant, has served in the military for more than 13 years.
He graduated in 1994 from Mariner High School, Cape Coral, and received an associate degree in 2007 from Columbia College, Fort Worth.
Moss finishes basic training with Air Force
Air Force Airman Drae T. Moss has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Moss earned distinction as an honor graduate.
He is the son of Sarah Valerio of Cape Coral. The airman is a 2008 graduate of North Fort Myers High School.
Fleming graduates
from military training
Air Force Airman Jimmy L. Fleming has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
He is the son of Jimmy Fleming of Stepping Stone Drive, Fort Myers.
Fleming is a 2008 graduate of Cape Coral High School.
Kruszczynski finishes basic combat training
Army Pvt. Jason R. Kruszczynski has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
He is the son of Paula Kruszczynski of Village Edge Circle, Fort Myers.
Kruszczynski graduated in 1997 from Cypress Lake High School, Fort Myers.
Kantarze completes infantry training
Army Pvt. Stephen A. Kantarze has graduated from the Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. The training consists of Basic Infantry Training and Advanced Individual Training.
During the nine weeks of basic combat training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons employment, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid skills, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experienced use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.
The Advanced Individual Training course is designed to train infantry soldiers to perform reconnaissance operations; employ, fire and recover anti-personnel and anti-tank mines; locate and neutralize land mines and operate target and sight equipment; operate and maintain communications equipment and radio networks; construct field firing aids for infantry weapons; and perform infantry combat exercises and dismounted battle drills, which includes survival procedures in a nuclear, biological or chemical contaminated area.
Kantarze is the son of Suzanne and Michael Kantarze of Southwest 14th Place, Cape Coral.

Martinez completes basic training
Air Force Airman 1st Class Cindy P. Martinez has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
She is the daughter of Jose and Patricia Martinez of Southwest 17th St., Cape Coral.
Martinez is a 2005 graduate of Mariner High School, Cape Coral.
Caldwell completes Coast Guard basic training
Coast Guard Seaman Christian C. Caldwell, son of Linda C. Quinn of Cape Coral, and Christian C. Caldwell of Holt, Mich., recently graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N. J.
During the eight-week training program, Caldwell completed a vigorous
training curriculum consisting of academics and practical instruction on
water safety and survival, military customs and courtesies, seamanship
skills, first aid, fire fighting and marksmanship. A major emphasis is
also placed on physical fitness, health and wellness.
Caldwell and other recruits also received instruction on the Coast
Guard’s core values — honor, respect and devotion to duty — and how to
apply them in their military performance and personal conduct. Caldwell
will join 36, 000 other men and women who comprise Coast Guard’s force.
Men and women train together from the first day in the Coast Guard just
as they do aboard ships and shore units throughout the world. To reinforce
the team concept, Caldwell, and other recruits were trained in preventing
sexual harassment, drug and alcohol awareness, civil rights training and
the basics of the work-life balance, as well as total quality management.
Caldwell is a 2008 graduate of Holt Senior High School of Holt, Mich.
Haworth finishes Airman training
Air Force Airman Amanda S. Haworth has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.

She is the daughter of Michael and Connie Haworth of Morris Road, Fort Myers.
