Lee Health convenient care center opens in South Cape
The county’s leading healthcare provider has opened a pair of facilities in the South Cape, including one this week.
On Monday, Lee Health opened a new convenient care center along Cape Coral Parkway, an alternative to the emergency room for treating non-urgent injuries or illnesses, with experienced physicians and in a state-of-the-art clinic.
Lee Health officials said the opening of this new location will help ensure access to essential medical services to support the city’s expanding population.
“As Cape Coral’s population continues to grow, it’s important for residents and visitors, particularly those without a primary care doctor, to have quick access to healthcare nearby,” said Kris Fay, Lee Health’s chief administrative officer for LPG and ambulatory services. “Convenient care offers a reliable option for non-emergency medical issues and helps keep emergency departments available for serious cases during peak times. It enhances access to high-quality, hospital-affiliated care and promotes the health of Cape Coral’s expanding population.”
The new convenient care center is located at the former Family Medicine office at 507 Cape Coral Parkway E. and is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Officials said the center will be able to treat minor injuries, sprains, strains, cuts, rashes, cold and flu, automotive and work-related injuries, and do school, work, or sports physicals.
Officials said it also will offer imaging, which includes ultrasounds, CT scans, MRIs, and X-rays, and the medical team can treat illnesses such as urinary tract infections (UTIs), ear infections, nausea, diarrhea and vomiting.
“The opening of the new convenient care office along Cape Coral Parkway will provide a valuable access point for the Cape Coral community through a centrally located office that can support South Cape Coral and beyond,” Lee Health officials stated in a release.
Convenient care is for those that have a non-life-threatening emergency, or those unable to make an appointment with a primary care doctor, or don’t have a regular doctor. No appointment or referral is required, and most insurance plans are accepted.
Lee Health officials state the new convenient care location is among the healthcare provider’s recent initiatives in Cape Coral aimed at addressing the community’s changing healthcare needs and providing residents with improved access to quality care nearby.
Lee Health at Bimini Square at the corner of Palm Tree Boulevard and Cape Coral Parkway began treating patients late last year.
Cape Coral Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit and other areas of the campus were expanded to accommodate more patients and specialty services in 2025 as well. The Florida State University College of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency Program is based out of Cape Coral Hospital and an Obstetrics and Gynecological (OBGYN) Residency Program, also in partnership with the FSU College of Medicine, is set to open at the hospital this summer.
The second phase of the Surfside Facility at Surfside Boulevard and Veterans Parkway is also complete, offering orthopedics, rheumatology and rehabilitation specialists for Cape Coral residents and visitors.
Lee Health at Bimini Square offerings on the first and second floors of Lee Health Medical Office Building include: adult primary care, breast health center, cardiology services from the Lee Health Heart Institute, imaging, lab services, infectious disease, pediatric primary care, pediatric rehabilitation, and pediatric behavioral health.
“We are deeply committed to caring for our community, and we envision this new space to offer the highest standards of patient-centered care to residents and visitors in Cape Coral, Pine Island, and the surrounding areas,” Fay said. “As the city continues to grow, its residents and visitors will need easy access to more primary and specialty care services, and we are happy to continue to expand our commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care in Cape Coral.”
Lee Health at Bimini Square is at 414 Cape Coral Parkway, E.
