Campaign underway to raise funds for Cape Dress for Success boutique
A campaign is being held until the end of the year for Dress for Success of Southwest Florida to raise money to move items to a new boutique opening in Cape Coral.
Dress for Success Southwest Florida Executive Director Jennifer Nelson-Lastra said the Empower Her Now Campaign will help with moving racks, clothing and supplies to the new boutique.
“About three weeks ago we secured a location in Cape Coral. A Dress for Success Boutique is coming soon. We will be working simultaneously with another nonprofit,” she said.
Nelson-Lastra said about 38% of the women they serve come from Cape Coral, which is a significant number.
“Given my connections in Cape Coral, I was approached by another nonprofit leader to see if we can co-habitat with them,” she said, adding that more information will be shared after the new year.
Their Fort Myers location is shared with Goodwill.
Dress for Success, Nelson-Lastra said, helps women who need it, as they might be coming from recovery homes, abuse shelters, women who did not save enough for retirement, or are new to the workforce.
“I encourage people to donate,” she said, adding that she knows there are a lot of philanthropic efforts happening. “To get us into Cape Coral, that would be amazing.”
Individuals can donate by visiting zeffy.com.
“This is not about crisis – it’s about continuity and community,” Nelson-Lastra said. “Every dollar invested in this mission translates into real results – women going to work, families finding stability, and our local economy growing stronger. We are asking our community to help keep that momentum going.”
