SH Modern has announced that the grand opening of its new gallery space in Fort Myers, will be held today, Aug. 1. Marking a bold expansion for the firm, this thoughtfully curated space will serve as a destination for discerning collectors, designers and art enthusiasts seeking museum-quality works by internationally celebrated masters such as Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró and Salvador Dalí, alongside major contemporary voices including Hunt Slonem, Patrick Rubinstein, and Kathy Buist.

Spanning six centuries of art history, SH Modern’s collection is globally curated and deeply rooted in the historical and cultural significance of its artists, each piece telling a story that transcends time.

Founded by internationally respected art advisor and historian Sallie Hirshberg, SH Modern brings more than three decades of expertise to the fine art market. Hirshberg began her corporate art career with one of Fidelity Investments’ top subsidiary companies, where she led major acquisitions for private and public collections worldwide. In 2000, she established the acclaimed Galerie d’Orsay on Boston’s prestigious first block of Newbury Street, creating one of the foremost galleries for rare masterworks by artists ranging from Rembrandt to Picasso and beyond.

Hirshberg’s curatorial vision, market expertise, and longstanding relationships with global museums historians, and dealers have enabled her to place exceptional works in prominent residential, commercial, and institutional collections. In 2014, she founded SH Modern, bringing her legacy of excellence to Southwest Florida. Since then, she has led a range of high-profile placement projects, including the installation of artwork throughout FineMark Bank & Trust’s state-of-the-art 60,000-square-foot headquarters and the showcase home for the 2022 International Builders Show in partnership with Build Envy Homes.

Collectors and art enthusiasts can now experience SH Modern’s Fort Myers location in person. With a focus on rare, original artworks that elevate interiors and spark dialogue, the gallery offers a personalized and immersive experience for every visitor.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Hirshberg is a committed patron of the arts and a passionate philanthropist. Her board service with institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and her involvement with organizations including SheGives, JF&CS, the Pomegranate Society, and the Young Presidents’ Organization reflect her dedication to using art as a vehicle for connection, community, and change.

The gallery will be open to the public Tuesday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and by appointment.
