Federal Reserve to give economic outlook for the new year at Above Board Chamber luncheon

The Above Board Chamber of Florida is bringing top experts to town to give valuable insight on how the Federal Reserve is navigating the current economic storm. Attendees will hear their views on interest rates, labor, employment, supply chain, prices and more during the special events in Naples and Fort Myers.

The Naples event, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m, Wednesday, Jan. 18, will be held at T-Michaels at The Village Shops on Venetian Bay, 4050 Gulf Shore Blvd., N. The identical talk in Lee County will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Crowne Plaza Bell Tower, 13051 Bell Tower Drive.

Shari Bower, the regional executive for the Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, will be the guest speaker. She is responsible for Miami’s board of directors and Advisory Council on Travel and Tourism. She previously worked with the New York Federal Reserve.

Amelia Biehl, Ph.D., from the Lutgert College of Business, Florida Gulf Coast University will also share her expertise. She is the Chair of the Department of Economics & Finance at FGCU and was previously an economics professor at the University of Michigan-Flint. The empirical micro economist has research that has been published in several high-level academic journals.
