Sprouts Farmers Market will host a grand opening celebration of its newest store at 1800 N.E. Pine Island Road in Cape Coral on Oct. 28, 29 and 30. A ribbon-cutting will take place Friday morning at 6:45 a.m. The doors to the store will open at 7 a.m.

“On behalf of the City of Cape Coral, we are excited that Sprouts Farmers Market has chosen Cape Coral for its newest location,” said John Gunter, Mayor of Cape Coral. “Sprouts will add to our community’s high quality organic food options and help residents cultivate a healthier lifestyle. Our community will love the unique shopping experience that will pique the interest of all food lovers. I want to express my thanks to the Sprouts team for their partnership in bringing this popular market to our wonderful city.”

Throughout the weekend guests will be treated to samples from pioneering brands at the Vendor Village from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., a daily caramel apple charcuterie demo and samplings will be available from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., and the Cape Coral Volunteer Fire Department will be at the store from 9 a.m. until noon all three days to meet and greet customers. Plus, live music, kids games and prizes will add to the celebration.

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday the first 200 shoppers will receive a reusable bag with purchase. On Saturday from 1-3 p.m. guests will be able to make a free DIY natural bird feeder kit and free ice cream sundaes will be offered on Sunday from 1:30-3:30 p.m. while supplies last.

The Cape Coral community can look forward to seeing locally produced products line the shelves including fresh fruits and vegetables from J&C Tropicals, Always Fresh Farms and more. Look for the blue tag highlighting that the product is local.

As part of the grand opening celebrations, the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation made a donation to the Community Cooperative, a local nonprofit that works to eliminate hunger and homelessness in Lee County. Additionally, through Sprouts’ Food Rescue program, the new store will donate groceries that are no longer fit for sale but remain perfectly edible and nutrient rich to Harry Chapin Food Bank.

This location will be open Sunday through Saturday from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. For more information, visit www.sprouts.com/moreno-valley/.
