Martin new partner with Aloia, Roland, Lubell & Morgan, PLCC

Jonathan A. Martin has joined Aloia, Roland, Lubell & Morgan, PLCC as a new partner, specializing in personal injury and wrongful death cases.

An advocate of constitutional law, Martin’s journey now includes a bid for elected office. Endorsed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, Martin is seeking the Florida Senate seat for District 27 currently occupied by Sen. Ray Rodrigues. Martin, a Republican, has only a write-in opponent facing him in the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 8. If elected, he would be sworn in as the next Senator, representing most of Lee County, in late November.

A graduate of the Liberty University School of Law, Martin passed the Florida Bar and immediately went to work as Assistant State Attorney for Florida’s Twentieth Judicial Circuit from 2009-14. He was responsible for prosecuting all state crimes in Glades County for three years and was felony prosecutor for Lee County from 2012-14. In all, he handled over 6,000 cases and 89 trials.

Martin, 40, also spent time in the Fort Myers City Attorney’s Office and as a legal instructor for the Southwest Florida Public Service Academy. He comes to Aloia Roland from Parvey & Cavenago, P.A.

Federal Reserve to give economic outlook at Above Board Chamber luncheon in October

The Above Board Chamber of Florida is bringing top experts to town to give valuable insight on how the Federal Reserve is navigating the current economic storm. Hear their views on interest rates, labor, employment, supply chain, prices and more during the special event Fort Myers.

The Lee County event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Crowne Plaza Bell Tower, 13051 Bell Tower Dr.

e Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, will be the guest speaker. She is responsible for Miami’s board of directors and Advisory Council on Travel and Tourism. She previously worked with the New York Federal Reserve.

Amelia Biehl, Ph.D., from the Lutgert College of Business, Florida Gulf Coast University will also share her expertise. She is the chair of the Department of Economics & Finance at FGCU and was previously an economics professor at the University of Michigan-Flint. The empirical micro economist has research that has been published in several high-level academic journals.

Emily Golden, senior public relations manager at Priority Marketing, has received the universal Accreditation in Public Relations credential through the Universal Accreditation Board, a consortium of nine professional communication organizations.

The APR credential reflects a mastery of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to succeed in public relations, as well as a commitment to the profession and its code of ethics.

Only 4,300 active public relations professionals worldwide, including 43 in Southwest Florida, have earned the APR credential, which requires candidates to pass an oral presentation before a panel of accredited professionals and a rigorous computer-based examination that addresses competence in 60 areas of knowledge, skills and abilities associated with the public relations profession.
