Red, White & Brew Trolley Event set for Saturday

By CJ HADDAD - | Jun 23, 2022

Those looking for a slice of Americana to get a head start on Independence Day can hop aboard a trolley in the South Cape and enjoy one of America’s favorite pastimes: beer.

The South Cape Hospitality & Entertainment Association’s 10th annual Red, White & Brew Trolley Event on Saturday, June 25, will parade patrons to some of the city’s best spots for American-made beer and appetizer samples from 7-11 p.m.

“While all of our trolleys bring excitement to the downtown entertainment district, we do love our events that revolve around holidays,” said SCHEA spokesperson Shannon Quinn. “Red, White & Brew is our patriotic pub crawl. We look forward to the event as a whole, but especially enjoy the singing and outfits.”

South Cape establishments always look forward to the party, as they get to become a bit creative and concoct creations to fit the theme. Trolley trivia will make for some fun along the way, as guests can answer questions for the eligibility to win prizes.

Participating locations and samples include:

• BackStreets Sports Bar – Summer Shandy & Mini Pork Sliders

• BIG8 BBQ – Freedom Blast & Pork Tacos

• Cruisers – Bud Light & Smoked Sausage Bites

• The Dive – PBR & TBD

• Dixie Live – Mich Ultra & BBQ Meatballs

• Dixie Roadhouse – Miller Lite & Pretzel Bites with Questo

• Monkey Bar – Coors Light & Mini Hot Dogs

• Rack’em Spirit & Times – Budweiser & Popcorn

• Ralph’s Place – Toasted Lager and Sausage & Peppers Puff Pastry

• Rusty’s – Busch Light & TBD

• Tiki Bar – Yuengling & Coconut Shrimp

Tickets for Red, White & Brew are $22 in advance on Eventbrite (plus fees) and include a beer and appetizer sample at each location, patriotic gift at check-in, wristband to board the trolleys, a passport of locations and access to the official photo booth at the South Cape Hub (where tickets are also available). Day-of tickets are $27 and designated driver tickets are $17.

Quinn said the event is a great way to get a kick start on Independence Day festivities.

“We always host Red, White & Brew the weekend before. Why celebrate for just one day, or one weekend? This holiday deserves more celebration than that,” she said.

Make sure to get your passport stamped at every location for a chance to win the grand prize: a patriotic themed gift basket. Fully stamped passports must be filled out and submitted at the end of the night. Patrons are encouraged to dress in festive garb and show their patriotism.

“We will definitely see the colors red, white, and blue,” Quinn said. “We also see many shirts with American-made beer logos. Our guests like to keep in the theme like we do.”

A photo booth memory at the South Cape Hub could score you four tickets to SCHEA’s next trolley event — Bacon Fest — as a winning photo will be chosen for the prize. Guests can check-in from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the South Cape Hub at 909 S.E. 47th Terrace #105, and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the hub and also Big John’s Plaza. Late check-in will take place at the hub until 10 p.m.

The event is 21-plus and photo I.D. must be presented at check-in. For more information and tickets, visit www.SouthCapeEntertainment.com.
