Holiday cheer is coming early to the streets of the South Cape via a popular downtown event.

The South Cape Hospitality & Entertainment Association is putting on its inaugural “Jolley Trolley” event next Saturday night, where attendees are encouraged to dress festively and enjoy holiday themed drinks and apps.

“SCHEA is very excited to be adding South Cape Jolley Trolley to our annual events,” said SCHEA Marketing Director Shannon Quinn. “We wanted to host an event that ‘kicked off the holidays.’ ‘Tis the season, right? Most importantly, we wanted to bring awareness to South Cape businesses and to promote ‘shop local’ this holiday season and in future seasons.”

SCHEA President Shelly Walton added, “We are bringing the holiday spirit to South Cape a little early this year. Participating locations are getting festive with drink and appetizers samples. And, of course, we always look forward to seeing attendees get creative with the attire.”

The fun takes place on Nov. 27 and will feature 12 local bars and restaurants, each concocting and creating unique food and drink items for guests.

“Of course, we hope they have a ‘jolley good time,’ but our goal is to build awareness for local businesses,” Quinn said. “With the event being held on Thanksgiving weekend, we expect a lot of local residents and visitors.

“We are hoping to see onesies, pajamas and holiday attire take over the entertainment district on Nov. 27th.”

• Dixie Live – Jingle Juice & Sweet Corn Nuggets

• BackStreets Sports Bar – Gingerbread Cookie & Christmas Cups

• Rack’em Sprits & Times – Hunch Punch & Mom’s Holiday Cookies

• Monkey Bar – Cape Cod & Chicken Bites

• Rusty’s Raw Bar & Grill – Peppermint White Russian & Pumpkin Cheesecake Dessert Cups

• Tiki Hut – Santa Spritzer & Cheese Spread and Crackers

Be sure to stop by the South Cape Hub for the Photo Booth Contest. The contest winner receives four tickets to the New Year’s Eve Trolley Event in December.

The trolleys will continue on a loop all night to all locations with trivia along the way. Get your passport stamped at every location to be eligible for the grand prize — a jolley-themed gift basket.

Designated driver tickets are available and receive all the benefits of standard tickets, except for drink samples (includes a complimentary non-alcoholic beverage, such as a bottled water or soda, at locations upon request). This is a 21-plus event and valid ID at check-in will be required.

Guests can check-in from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the South Cape Hub at 909 S.E. 47th Terrace, and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the hub and also Big John’s Plaza. Late check-in will take place at the hub until 10 p.m.

Tickets are $25; $20 for designated driver tickets. They are available on Eventbrite (plus fees) or at the South Cape Hub.
