Lee Health closes on parcel Pine Island Road
The Lee Memorial Health System has closed on an 18-plus acre site at 2810 S.W. Pine Island Road in Cape Coral for a future medical facility.
The health care system purchased the property from the Michael House Trust for $2,835,000.
The acreage is just east of Pine Island Road and Veterans Parkway.
“This immediate area has been largely underserved for patient care,” said LandQwest Managing Principal, Adam Palmer, CCIM, SIOR in a prepared statement issued Friday announcing the sale. “With the continued growth along the Pine Island Corridor, and the increased population in North Cape Coral, this future facility is positioned to be a valued asset to the community.”
Palmer represented the buyer in the transaction.
Lee Health’s Board of Directors approved the purchase at their Aug. 26 meeting.
Ben Spence, chief financial and business services officer at Lee Health said in September that at this time is was too early to announce definitive plans for the land, but that the system anticipated building a facility similar to Lee Health Coconut Point, with a combination of physician offices, diagnostic testing, and other health care services.
According to the Lee Health website, “Lee Health Coconut Point has everything you need under one roof: 24/7 emergency care, primary care, specialists, outpatient surgery, imaging, pediatrics, a pharmacy, and women’s care. We also have a cafe, comfortable social spaces, and technology to help you navigate the facility.”
The Estero facility is at 23450 Via Coconut Point.
