Kadel appointed general manager at the Westin Cape Coral Resort

The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village this week announced the appointment of Barry Kadel as the resort’s general manager. A long-time member of the Marriott International family, Kadel brings more than 24 years of industry experience and leadership to this role. He will oversee day-to-day operations across all facets of the revitalized resort, including guest rooms and food and beverage outlets, as well as support of its associates and the development of new internal and external programs and activities.

Most recently, Kadel served as general manager of the Charleston Marriott Town Center in Charleston, West Virginia. Under his guidance, the hotel was recognized for significant improvements in its balanced scorecard metrics in sales generation, profit margins, guest satisfaction and associate engagement.

Kadel began his tenure with Marriott two decades ago, when he served as an assistant food production manager at the Research Triangle Park Marriott in Durham, North Carolina. As his career evolved, Kadel spent time in positions within the operations and events divisions before moving into executive committee roles at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott, Westchester Marriott, JW Marriott Houston and Princeton Marriott at Forrestal.

Southwest Florida boat dealer scores hat trick

For the third year in a row, Southwest Florida-based Fish Tale Boats was named the top dealer for Robalo boats, beating more than 200 dealers worldwide.

The Fricke family has owned and operated Fish Tale Boats in Southwest Florida for more than 20 years. The company sells and services boats on site and from its locations at 15581 S. Tamiami Trail in Fort Myers, 2540 Davis Blvd. in Naples and Bonita Bay Marina in Bonita Springs.

Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida receives foundation’s Workforce Development grant

Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida has received a $30,000 Workforce Development grant from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation to help further its work and career readiness programs for middle and high school students throughout Collier, Lee, and Charlotte counties.

Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida partners with schools, local businesses and volunteers to provide beneficial and interactive programs that address community issues, such as workforce readiness, skill gaps, college readiness, and more. During the 2020-2021 school year, the organization provided nearly 126,000 hours of instruction to nearly 13,900 students in 576 classes throughout Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties.
