SRMA to host Manufacturer Mastermind Summit at FGCU in August

Manufacturers across the state are facing supply chain delays, workforce shortages, inflation and other challenges as they attempt to return to business as usual after a year of pivoting and pandemic. Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association will host a live Manufacturer Mastermind Summit for manufacturers-only at FGCU Wednesday, Aug. 18, from 8-9:30 a.m. Top manufacturers will be selected to lead the discussion and manufacturers large and small across the state are invited to take part in the conversation.

There is no charge to attend the Manufacturer Mastermind Summit, generously sponsored by S4J Manufacturing Services Inc. Light refreshments will be provided. Online registration is required as space will be limited. The event will take place on the FGCU campus in the Lutgert College of Business, Room 2201.

Vectra Digital, local businesses collect donations for food banks

Recognizing the impacts the pandemic and summer have had on donations to local food banks, Vectra Digital rallied local businesses together to conduct a summer food drive. During June, donations brought to eight different locations around Lee and Collier counties resulted in 730 pounds of food being donated to Harry Chapin Food Bank of SWFL.

Other businesses volunteered as drop-off locations included Stickboy Creative, Rosier Insurance, Glass Designs, Coastal Irrigation, CFS Roofing and Grumpy Goat Coffee.

Importance, impact of nonprofits to be explored

The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce will feature a nonprofit expo during its monthly luncheon Thursday, July 22, providing an opportunity for business professionals to learn more about nonprofit organizations that are members of the chamber.

Organizations that will be showcased include Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer’s Resource Center, BelieveNBooks, Boys & Girls Club of Lee County, Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium, Dr. Piper Center for Social Services, Fort Myers YMCA, Gigi’s Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Center, Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Inc., Opportunity Services Florida, Pace Center for Girls of Lee County, Southwest Florida Military Museum & Library, St. Matthew’s House, Teen Challenge and Valerie’s House.

The chamber event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Club at Pelican Preserve, 9802 Pelican Preserve Blvd., in Fort Myers. Admission is $25 for Chamber members and $35 for future Chamber members. Call 239-332-2930.
