Renovation of Cape Walmart Supercenter complete

Cape Coral residents are getting a first look at the newly remodeled Walmart Supercenter at 1619 Del Prado Blvd., S., as the project is now complete. The remodel includes several department transformations, including the expansion of contact-free checkout experiences that will help customers save time.

Passenger traffic continues to increase at Southwest Florida International Airport

During May, a record-breaking 946,366 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers. This was an increase of 562 percent compared to May 2020 and more than 30 percent above May 2019. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 34.9 percent compared to last year.

The traffic leader in May was Southwest Airlines with 212,214 total passengers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Delta (193,971), American (124,336), United (122,108) and JetBlue (94,007).

Southwest Florida International Airport had 9,203 aircraft operations, an increase of nearly 175 percent compared to May 2020. Page Field saw 12,097 operations, a 24.7 percent increase compared to May 2020.

Alaska Airlines to offer service from Fort Myers to Los Angeles, Seattle

The Lee County Port Authority this week announced that Alaska Airlines will resume its nonstop service between Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers, and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) on Nov. 19, 2021. Alaska Airlines has also increased the frequency of both flights and will operate daily to LAX and SEA.

Crowne Plaza Fort Myers at Bell Tower Shops has been recognized by the American Automobile Association with a 2021 AAA Inspector’s Best of Housekeeping award. FPRA SWFL to host public relations crisis planning seminar

The Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association invites business leaders and PR/marketing professionals to attend the upcoming in person crisis communication seminar. The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 13 at Dave and Buster’s, 13499 Cleveland Ave., Suite 400, Fort Myers, FL 33907.

A 2021 PWC study found that 69% of business leaders experienced at least one corporate crisis between 2014 and 2019, but only 45% had a crisis communication plan to help guide them through various scenarios. And, 95% said their crisis prep needs improvement.
