Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce installs 2021-2022 board of directors

The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce last week announced the installation of its 2021-2022 board of directors and officers for the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Foundation.

The chamber board of directors will be led by board chair Angela Schivinski, publisher for Fort Myers Florida Weekly, joined by first vice chair Michele Hoover, managing partner of Solomon & Hoover CPAs, PLLC; second vice chair Jay Johnson, owner of Bubba’s Roadhouse & Saloon; treasurer Samantha Scott, owner of Pushing the Envelope; and immediate past chairman Jim Larkin, general manager of Crowne Plaza Fort Myers at Bell Tower.

Working to support the chamber’s efforts to enhance education and professional development at a variety of levels within Southwest Florida, the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Board of Directors will be led by chair Joe Mitchell, president of Pool Pros Inc., joined by vice chair Bryan Blackwell, managing partner of Southern Oak Wealth Management; and secretary Suzanne Boy, founding partner and board certified attorney in labor and employment law for Boy Agnew Potanovic, PLLC.

The 2021-2022 board of directors were appointed during the chamber’s monthly luncheon on June 11. Outgoing board chairs, board members and volunteer committee chairpersons were recognized during the ceremony for their year of service.

Southwest Florida International Airport to offer seasonal service to Los Angeles and San Francisco

The Lee County Port Authority recently announced that United Airlines will inaugurate new nonstop flights between Fort Myers and Los Angeles and San Francisco on Dec. 16, 2021. This is the first time in airport history that Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) will have nonstop service to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and a new nonstop option to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

The daily flights for both markets will be operated seasonally from Dec. 16, 2021 to May 5, 2022 on 737-800s.

DiIorio named to University of South Florida Muma College of Business Customer Experience Certificate Program steering committee

Kristin DiIorio, Sanibel Captiva Community Bank’s vice president and Downtown Branch office manager, was recently appointed to the University of South Florida Muma College of Business Customer Experience Certificate Program steering committee.

The steering committee provides oversight for the interactive, eight-week online program that teaches participants how to apply principles that drive customer experience using techniques developed by top companies. Spirit Airlines to provide nonstop service from Fort Myers to Manchester-Boston staring Nov. 17

The Lee County Port Authority this week announced that Spirit Airlines has announced it will inaugurate nonstop service between Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers, and Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) in New Hampshire on Nov. 17, 2021.

Hampton Manor to host Classic Cruise-In July 1

The public is invited to a Classic Cruise-In to be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m,Thursday, July 1, at Hampton Manor of Cape Coral.

The Cruise-In will feature classic cars from the “Hot Chili Rods,” entertainment by DJ Alex and tour opportunities of the facility which opened in August 2020.
