Parsons-Mulicka, Rodrigues to review 2021 Legislative Session at REIS meeting
Florida Rep. Jenna Persons-Mulicka and Sen. Ray Rodrigues will review the 2021 Legislative Session and implications for Southwest Florida’s real estate industry at the Real Estate Investment Society’s May 11 luncheon meeting.
Recent legislative action and budget allocations will have far-reaching impacts on our local economy and Persons-Mulicka and Rodrigues will summarize the key issues to watch. They are also expected to provide insight on the legislative process and political factors. Following the presentations, the legislators will respond to questions of specific interest to the real estate and development industry.
Persons-Mulicka was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2020 and serves on numerous committees, including the Infrastructure and Tourism Appropriations Subcommittee. Persons-Mulicka is a partner in the Strayhorn & Persons law firm in Fort Myers, where she specializes in government, commercial, land use and zoning.
Rodrigues was elected to the Florida Senate in 2020 after having served in the House of Representatives for 8 years and was Majority Leader. He chairs the Governmental Oversight and Accountability Committee and serves on several others, including Banking and Insurance and Finance and Tax Committees. He has worked as Budget Manager for the College of Arts and Sciences at Florida Gulf Coast University.
The meeting is sponsored by Sallee Promotions, and will begin promptly at 11:45 a.m. on May 11 in the Osprey Room at Pelican Preserve’s Clubhouse, on Treeline Avenue at Colonial Boulevard, one mile east of I-75 exit 136 in Fort Myers. Morris-Depew Associates completes site design and permitting on four Florida Cancer Specialists locations
Morris-Depew Associates, a Southwest Florida civil engineering surveying, land use planning and landscape architecture firm, has completed services for Florida Cancer Specialists, a healthcare institution providing access to cancer care and research.
MDA worked with four Florida Cancer Specialists locations throughout Southwest Florida to provide a complete scope of development permitting services, including due diligence, engineering, landscape, planning and surveying. Offices included Fort Myers-Colonial, Estero, Global Parkway (an FCS & American Oncology Network office) and North Port.
For the Fort Myers-Colonial location Project Manager and Engineer Stephen VerVaecke, PE and Landscape Architect Matt Lincolnhol, PLA led plans to create a functional and appealing site for the development of a 20,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art cancer treatment center.
In the upscale Coconut Point commercial development on the south end of the Village of Estero, Cancer Specialists retained Morris-Depew Associates to provide a full array of services. The project team was co-led by Engineering Project Manager Jack Morris, PE, Stephen VerVaecke, PE, as well as Director of Landscape Architect Michael Ekblad, PLA, with support from Cory VerVaecke and Taylor Maggiorani.
The MDA team also managed site design and permitting for a joint facility for Florida Cancer Specialists and American Oncology Network on a 5-acre parcel in the Southwest International Commerce Park. The design was for a 50,000-square-foot building and associated infrastructure. The project team was co-led by Director of Operations Ryan Shute, PE; Stephen VerVaecke; as well as Ekblad, with support from Cory VerVaecke and Maggiorani.

Stan Stouder, CCIM of CRE Consultants represented the seller and Francisco Rivera of Related ISG represented the buyer in negotiating the transaction.
* Old 41 Restaurant, LLC purchased a 1,396-square-foot industrial condo in Signal Center at 25091 Bernwood Drive, Unit 8, Bonita Springs, from Thomas F. Lachner for $230,000. Fred Kermani, CCIM, AIA of CRE Consultants represented the seller and Catherine Backos of Regasus Realty Group represented the buyer in negotiating the transaction.

MK Architecture hired
to create architectural and engineering drawings for Mahana Breeze Apartments in Fort Myers
MK Architecture has been awarded a new project by StoreBuilders Inc. to complete the architectural and engineering drawings for the Mahana Breeze Apartment project to be located on McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers.
The project will consist of three 4-story buildings totaling 116 multi-family units of luxury rental apartments. It will also include a 4,500-square-foot amenity center complete with a resort-style pool.
Currently in the construction document phase, the project is anticipated to be under way later this year.
