Your business at a glance:
What you do: As the Majority Leader of the Florida House, I am responsible for leading the 73 members of the Republican Caucus and ushering conservative legislation to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ desk.
Unique niche: Cat herding, or at least I think I’d be well equipped for it after this.
Bragging rights: Last year Gov. Ron DeSantis led a ban on sanctuary cities in Florida. I was responsible for ensuring its passage in the House, and due to negotiations with the Senate, we had to pass it off the House floor three times within two weeks — the last and final time was around 2 a.m. after many hours of debate. Sanctuary cities are now banned in Florida, and our streets are safer for it.
Where you see your business in five years: In the United States Congress, if the voters will have me!
Describe yourself in one word: Tenacious.
Hero, role model or mentor: My late grandfather, Hugh Madigan — World War II veteran, a man of family and faith, and the embodiment of the Greatest Generation.
Person you’d most like to meet: President Trump (again).
Book that changed your life: “Theodore Rex.” Whatever Teddy Roosevelt envisioned, he achieved.
Best business advice you’ve ever received: Stay humble, hungry and honest.
Biggest risk you ever taken: Running for the Florida House as a 28-year-old “kid” back in 2012.
Personal passion: Helping others succeed.
Guilty pleasure: Crossfit.
