Players Circle Theatre presenting ‘Laughter on the 23rd Floor’ and ‘Love is the Thing’ this weekend
Calling all Broadway-play enthusiasts! Here’s your chance to get in on a production of Neil Simon’s comedy, “Laughter on the 23rd Floor.” Opening night at the Players Circle Theatre, North Fort Myers, is Saturday, Feb. 15. A discounted ticket price of $35 is available for a special preview performance on today, February 14.
Performances are held Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Wednesdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $50-$35, with same-day seats at $25. The Players Circle Theatre is located at The Shell Factory & Nature Park, North Fort Myers. Parking is free and dinner is available.
Producing Artistic Director Robert Cacioppo said “Laughter on the 23rd Floor” represents Neil Simon’s last great play; in addition to being very funny, it includes the early days of TV, when Sid Caesar and his writers wrote very smart and biting comedies, including “Your Show of Shows.”
A very special one-event cabaret is being offered Sunday, February 16, as a late Valentine’s Day gift. “Love Is the Thing” is a night of songs inspired by love. Songs such as “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” “Love Is the thing” and “How Sweet It Is,” are included in the presentation. This performance is at 7:30 p.m. and is offered at a general seating price of $20.
Tickets are available via phone, 239-800-3292, or ordered online at www.playerscircle.org.
The theatre is in residence at The Shell Factory & Nature Park, 16554 N. Cleveland Avenue, North Fort Myers, FL, 33903.
