Sawicki to be guest speaker

at REIS luncheon

Cape Coral Mayor Marni Sawicki will be the guest speaker at the Tuesday, March 8, luncheon meeting of the Real Estate Investment Society. The meeting will be in the Osprey Room at Pelican Preserve’s Clubhouse on Treeline Avenue off Colonial Boulevard. The meeting begins at 11:45 a.m.

Sawicki will discuss various projects and master planning efforts for Cape Coral including Bimini Basin, South Cape CRA, Northwest Cape/7 Islands Vision Plan, Parks Master Plan and an Economic Development Master Plan. She also will provide updates on infrastructure improvements under way in Southwest Florida’s largest city. This includes the city’s utilities extension program, road paving and other capital improvements.

The cost to attend the luncheon is $30 for REIS members and $40 for guests. Reservations are required by March 2 and can be made at the REIS website: www.reis-swfl.org.

Ferrer new agent

Lee County Community Development issues

permit report for month of February

During February, contractors pulled 84 permits to build single-family houses collectively valued at more than $17 million in unincorporated Lee County. That compares to 107 permits issued in January 2016 and 101 issued in February 2015, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development. Data for 2015 includes permits for the Village of Estero.

Also during February, 27 multi-family units valued at about $4 million were permitted, compared to 14 units in January and 74 units in February 2015.

General commercial activity was valued at about $6.2 million for 18 permits, compared to about $8.8 million in January and about $45.9 million in February 2015.

Lee County Community Development issued 3,576 permits of all kinds in February.

Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development and building services, environmental review, building inspection, and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Lee County.
