announce ‘Top Agents’ for 2015
RE/MAX Realty Partners in Cape Coral has recognized its top three agents in residential closed transacts for 2015.
Maureen Gobbi was the “Top Agent” in the office. With 25 years of experience in residential sales, she has attained the “Platinum Club” level, one of the highest designations within RE/MAX International. She can be reached at 239-0448.
Jessie Leopard and Judy Ramage attained the No. 2 and No. 3 positions as office leaders for the year. Both are seasoned agents with many years in residential real estate locally, working with both buyers and sellers. Both attained the “100% Club” level within RE/MAX International.

Builders Care to host
building product sale
Builders Care, the nonprofit arm of the Lee Building Industry Association, will host its fifth annual building product garage sale to raise funds to help local homeowners in need. Local suppliers and building industry related companies are providing great deals on all kinds of items including appliances, lighting, plumbing fixtures, kitchen cabinets and paint. All proceeds will benefit Builders Care and help provide emergency construction services to elderly and disabled Lee County homeowners in need.
The sale will take place Saturday, Jan. 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Cape Coral Plumbing, 5812 Enterprise Parkway, in the Billy Creek Commerce Center off Luckett Road, just west of I-75. Admission is free, but a $5 donation is suggested per adult.
Beverages and snacks will be available.
“This is a remodeler’s dream sale,” said Christi Pritchett Sarlo, Builders Care executive director. “This is a perfect opportunity to take advantage of great deals that will ultimately help a local neighbor in need. We have tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of materials for pennies on the dollar.”
Builders Care is the nonprofit charitable arm of the Lee Building Industry Association. Its objective is to provide emergency repairs and construction services to elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged people who are unable to obtain home repairs through traditional means. To date, Lee BIA Builders Care has put more than $3.7 Million in construction services back into the community at no cost to homeowners in need.
Builders Care enlists the volunteer services of Lee BIA members and leverages grants and donated materials to provide construction and remodeling services to qualified homeowners throughout Lee County. Major supporters include Cape Coral Plumbing, Ferguson Enterprises, Nilles Design Group, Priority Marketing of Southwest Florida, Stock Development, Sunset Air and The Aubuchon Team of Companies. The Lee Building Industry Association recognized several building industry members and leaders for their service to the industry at the BIA Installation of Officers and Directors in November.
Recognized were:

The BIA also announced the first recipients of the Legacy Award. The Legacy Leader Award is in recognition of the legacy that the recipient’s leadership has given to the building industry and community with the highest professional and personal standards of performance. This year’s recipients were Michael Reitmann, for his 30 years of service to the industry and community as the former Lee BIA executive vice president; and he second recipient Robert Stewart, for his 30-plus years of service to the community as Lee County’s Building Official and Deputy Director of Development Services.
The Lee Building Industry Association, a non-profit organization representing Lee, Hendry and Glades counties, is a powerful voice for the building industry in the regulatory arena. Membership in the Florida Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders is automatic upon joining the Lee BIA. These combined memberships provide a seamless, constant flow of information at the state and national levels to the local office and directly to the membership, providing status on pertinent actions affecting the industry. issues december and annual permit report
During December, contractors pulled 132 permits to build single-family houses collectively valued at nearly $26.6 million in unincorporated Lee County. That compares to 47 permits issued in November and 76 issued in December 2014, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development.
Also during December, 200 multi-family units were permitted, compared to 6 in November and 30 in December 2014. Of the permits issued for multi-family units in December, 174 units were in The Reef, an off-campus student housing complex at 19655 Three Oaks Parkway.
For the year 2015, Lee County issued 1,202 single-family permits, up 21 percent from 2014. Permits were issued for 2,094 multi-family units in 2015, up 216 percent from the previous year. The market value of all new single- and multi-family dwellings built in 2015 is estimated at $491.3 million.
In December, general commercial activity was valued at $3.7 million for 22 permits, compared to $13.3 million in November and $6.5 million in December 2014.
For all of 2015, Lee County issued 221 permits for general, commercial structures, up 7.6 percent over 2014. The value of those structures was about $188 million, up 21.7 percent from the previous year.
Lee County Community Development issued 4,162 permits of all kinds during December and 46,807 for all of 2015.
Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development and building services, environmental review, building inspection, and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Lee County.
The totals for 2015 include permits issued for the Village of Estero, which will issue its own permits in 2016.
