The Grumpy Fox LLC is a retail spot with consigned art and crafts, handmade items, custom-made items, commissioned work and LP records. Everything in the store is unique and made or consigned by local artists and craftsmen. It also holds events each month and has lots of things happening with the community.

Hispanic Chamber, The Pends Law Firm
to host ‘Viva Cape Coral!’ Jan. 16
The Southwest Florida’s Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and The Pends Law Firm will be hosting the annual festival Viva Cape Coral! on Saturday, Jan. 16, from 510 p.m., at Sun Splash Waterpark, located at 400 Santa Barbara Blvd., in Cape Coral. This event is free and open to the public.
Viva Cape Coral! is one of Cape Coral’s largest events. There will be food and merchandise vendors throughout the event, businesses promoting a variety of products and services and a kids’ area with entertainment by Galacctin the Clown. The stage will be the center of entertainment with live musical performances by the international artist Ken-Y! There will also be great music by local bands including Grupo Espali, Orquesta Tropical Sound and Arteaga y El Yen.
Viva Cape Coral! is a celebration of Hispanic heritage combining live music, food, arts and crafts and good old fashioned family fun. The event celebrates all countries, cultures and people.

Distinguished Paralegal Award
Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A., recently announced that Sharon Read received the 2015 Distinguished Paralegal Award for Lee County from the Paralegal Association of Florida, Southwest Florida Chapter.
Read has been active in the legal field in Michigan and Florida for over 35 years. She joined Henderson Franklin in May 1994 working exclusively in the Tort & Insurance Litigation division performing demanding duties including interviewing witnesses, taking statements, preparing and analyzing documents, conducting research and investigation and attending court-related hearings and trials.

Riverchase Dermatology and
Cosmetic Surgery named a top U.S. practice
Riverchase Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery was recently honored by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery for participating in the Choose Skin Health program and “devoting tremendous time and energy” by providing free skin cancer screenings in the national skin cancer prevention program. Riverchase performed 690 free skin cancer screenings in Southwest Florida during the program year from Oct. 1, 2014, through Oct. 1, 2015, which was the largest number of all program participants.
The Choose Skin Health program is a partnership between ASDS and Neutrogena that encourages the public to choose healthy and sun-safe behavior, and promotes skin cancer prevention through free skin cancer screenings, regular sunscreen use and the practice of skin self-exams monthly, according to the ASDS. In 2015, volunteer screeners provided 1,592 total free skin cancer screenings. Riverchase Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery providers performed over 40 percent of the total screenings.
Riverchase Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery is dedicated to giving back to the community and promoting healthy skin behavior. For the last two years the practice was recognized as the top screener in their region. This is the first year they have earned the designation of top screener in the country and they plan to uphold that title.

Nominations sought for 7th Annual
Chrysalis Awards program
The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau and the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Inc. are seeking nominations for the seventh annual Chrysalis Awards to honor businesses and individuals who have positively impacted the local community.
Award nominations are due by Jan. 22, and are open to any member of the local business community, regardless of whether or not they are directly a part of the tourism industry. Award recipients will be announced at a jointly hosted Celebration of Business & Tourism Awards Luncheon and Trade Show on Friday, May 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Harborside Event Center in downtown Fort Myers.
The event, co-produced by the VCB and the chamber and held to commemorate National Travel and Tourism Week, celebrates the value of tourism and the community teamwork involved in maintaining and enhancing tourism as a major economic engine for the county.
The awards, designed to foster a stronger alliance between the tourism industry and the county’s business community, will honor recipients in the categories: Business Development, Eco-Innovation, Cultural Achievement, Education, Sports, and, Sales & Marketing. The VCB’s long-standing Junonia Award, created to recognize those individuals who have positively impacted the local tourism community by demonstrating unique capabilities, leadership, commitment and dedication, will also be awarded.
The Celebration of Business & Tourism Awards Luncheon and Trade Show will feature a trade show from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the awards luncheon will take place from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event is projected to attract 400 attendees.

Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A., has announced that Tania Nordelo Ogden has joined the firm’s workers’ compensation defense team.
Ogden represents insurance carrier, third party administrators and employers in the defense of worker’s compensation claims. She is also certified as a Circuit Civil Mediator and assists parties to reach an amicable resolution avoiding costly litigation.
Prior to joining Henderson Franklin, Ogden owned her own workers’ compensation practice. She was also an adjunct professor at Ave Maria Law School, teaching a course in workers’ compensation.

Southwest Florida International Airport
earns high ranking
J.D. Power released its 2015 North American Airport Satisfaction Study and Southwest Florida International Airport ranked highest in the medium airport category.
The study, in its 10th year, measures overall traveler satisfaction with large- and medium-sized North American airports in the areas of terminal facilities, airport accessibility, security check, baggage claim, check-in/baggage check and terminal shopping.
RSW’s score of 792 was the highest in the entire study this year, where the average was 752 for medium and 719 for large airports.
