Six Bends holds veterans

appreciation celebration

In honor of Southwest Florida veterans and their families, Six Bends hosted a veterans appreciation celebration last weekend at Six Bends Harley-Davidson, raising more than $600 to benefit the American Fallen Soldiers Project.

In partnership with LeeSar and Lee Memorial Health System, Six Bends kicked off the daylong celebration with a hot breakfast to welcome veterans and their families. The crowd then gathered for the presentation of colors, flag raising ceremony and Freedom Photo to show support for those who have returned home from defending our country.

Mission BBQ later sponsored lunch for all who attended, making a significant contribution to the hundreds raised to honor our fallen heroes.

The American Fallen Soldiers Project is a non-profit organization that makes available, at no cost to the family, an original portrait of their fallen loved one that captures their appearance and personality. The local beneficiary of this fundraiser and LeeSar’s project is the Eggers family who lost their son, Army Capt. Daniel Eggers.
