‘Holiday Magic & Snow Festival’

Fathoms Restaurant and Bar at Cape Harbour will be hosting a “Holiday Magic & Snow Festival” today, Nov. 20, and Saturday, Nov. 21, from 6-10 each evening,
Tonight, Santa will visit and there will be a tree lighting and live music by Riverside. On Saturday, there will be a snow playground, Wicked Dolphin ice luge, hot chocolate and cookies, flash fun photo booth, Christmas Carols, ice carving, face painting, snow cones and live music by Gatlin.

A Touch of Class Pet Grooming

A Touch of Class Pet Grooming Inc., at 1207 Cape Coral Parkway, E., is holding a Pet Food Drive now through Nov. 24, and Nov. 28 through Dec. 23.
Items needed are wet and dry dog food; treats; toys; bedding, cages/crates; animal shampoo; leashes and collars; cleaning supplies (bleach, soap, laundry detergent, etc.); bowls and food containers; old towels/washcloths; and gloves.
Cash and checks will also be accepted as a donation. The proceeds will be donated to the Animal Refugee Center of North Fort Myers, which operates solely off of volunteers and donations.
There will be Christmas raffle tickets available – check the shop’s Facebook page to see what will be featured in the raffle basket. Each person making a donation will be given a ticket for a raffle entry. Raffle tickets are also available for purchase.

Attorney to provide free workshop at Southwest Florida Military Museum
Attorney Kelly Fayer and Florida Rural Legal Service Inc. will present a free legal workshop Tuesday, Nov. 24, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., at the Southwest Florida Military Museum, at 4820 Leonard St., in Cape Coral.
The workshop discussion will be “5 Most Powerful Estate Planning Documents.” There will also be a health care surrogate and living will presentation and a free estate planning consultation for additional planning for those in attendance.

With the holiday season right around the corner, the Cape Coral Sears Hometown Store is joining more than 1,200 Sears Hometown Store, Sears Outlet Store, Sears Home Appliance Showroom and Sears Appliance & Hardware locations nationwide in supporting the 2015 Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores Inc. holiday campaign with Make-A-Wish. Called “Season of Wishes,” the funds raised in the campaign will allow Make-A-Wish to help more children with life-threatening medical conditions experience the powerful, and oftentimes, life-changing impact of a fulfilled wish.
Through December 31, customers are invited to make incremental donations of $2, $5 or $10 in support of the campaign. at the Cape Coral store, which is located at 2708 Santa Barbara Blvd, Unit 135.

Scheiner speaks at Catastrophic Care Society Conference

Celebrity Chef Series II
to feature Chef Almodovar
One of South Florida’s own, Chef Robyn Almodovar, will be the second special guest of the Celebrity Chef Series on Sunday, Dec. 6. Almodovar is the winner of the “Chopped,” “Cutthroat Kitchen” and a finalist on Hell’s Kitchen television shows.
Hosted by Cornerstone Builders of SW Florida and Good Deals Appliances, the events will take place from 1- 5 p.m., Dec. 6, at Cornerstone Kitchen & Good Deals Appliance Designer Kitchen Center, located at 14680 South Tamiami Trail in Fort Myers.
The events are designed as observation classes where participants watch Almodovar around a 40-foot granite counter, surrounding the state-of-the-art Designer Kitchen with Elite Jenn-Air equipment, as she explains and shows recipe preparation and cooking techniques. Guests will experience Almodovar as she designs and prepares, a custom three-course meal for them to experience. Each event’s seating is limited to 30 guests and lasts two and a half hours.

Galeana Chrysler Dodge Jeep raises funds for Evangelical Christian School
On Nov. 7, Galeana Chrysler Dodge Jeep helped Evangelical Christian School raise $820 at a “Drive for the Kids” fundraising event held during the school’s Fall Festival. Participants earned a $10 contribution to the school from the Chrysler brand by taking a brief test drive in a 2015 model Town & Country, Chrysler 200, or Chrysler 300 vehicle during the event.
Since its inception in 1993, the Chrysler brand’s “Drive for the Kids” program has contributed more than $6 million directly to local schools. The program has helped parents and educators in communities across the nation raise needed funds for everything from playgrounds and field trips, to reading programs and new computers. The Florida Public Relations Association Southwest Florida Chapter will celebrate the holiday season with its 6th Annual Merry Mixer Thursday, Dec. 3, from 5:30-8 p.m., at Six Bends Harley-Davidson, 9501 Thunder Road in Fort Myers.
