The Gulf Coast Humane Society will be having Halloween fun at its monthly Yappy Hour, Saturday, Oct. 31, at a special time of 4-6 p.m. The event, which is open to all dogs and their owners, will be held at Cape Harbour, at 5785 Cape Harbour Drive, in Cape Coral.

Bring out your furry friend in their best Halloween costumes to enter for a chance to win a special prize. GCHS will also have adoptable dogs available to meet potential new families.

A number of vendors will be set up to promote their businesses and Fathoms Restaurant and Bar, with The French Press Caf, will provide beer, wine during the event.

Proceeds from beverage and T-shirt sales will benefit GCHS.

Gulf Coast Humane Society, located at 2010 Arcadia St., in Fort Myers, was established as the first non-profit animal welfare organization in Southwest Florida in 1947.

The 501(c)(3) mission is to rescue, provide safe refuge and compassionate care, and find forever homes for abandoned and neglected animals in the area. GCHS only takes in owner surrendered and transfers from other shelters and rescue groups with a high success rate of adoptions. Its veterinary clinic is open to the public and offers a full array of affordable services six days a week.
