Boren artist of the month at Cape Coral Brewing Company
Cape Coral Brewing Company has announced that Katherine Boren is its October “Artist of the Month” and will host its free “Meet the Artist” event today, Oct. 16, from 5:30-7:30 p,m., at the brewery at 839 Miramar St., in Cape Coral.
Cape Coral Brewing Company supports local artists via its Artist of the Month program offering gallery space and a “Meet the Artist” event. Area artists are invited to contact the brewery for consideration.
Originally from New York, Boren studied at New York University and The New School, graduating from the State University of New York with a bachelor of fine arts with an emphasis in sculpture. Her work has been exhibited in group and solo shows in New York and California, and has recently been featured in Florida at numerous venues in solo, juried, group, and member shows.
Boren’s current work experiments with multiple mediums in two dimensions. By focusing on a monochromatic palette and utilizing a combination of untraditional materials in unexpected ways, she emphasizes the reflection of light, varying textures and shapes, and differing grades of color saturation.
