Long receives 2015 NMMA Hall of Fame Award
The National Marine Manufacturers Association Board of Directors announced recently that Bob Long is the recipient of the 2015 NMMA Hall of Fame Award.
“This prestigious award celebrates those whose deeds are synonymous with the pursuit of quality, innovation, and perfection within the marine industry. We are honored to add Mr. Long’s name to the list of inductees that include such pioneers as Chris Smith, Charles Chapman, Elmer Kiekhaefer and Ralph Evinrude. The Hall of Fame Award continues to salute excellence by recognizing contemporaries such as Ham Hamburger, Leon Slikkers, Phil Dyskow, Ralph Meloon – and now, Robert Long,” the National Marine Manufacturers Association said in a prepared statement.
An accomplished leader, innovator and entrepreneur, Long has spent 45 years in the marine industry and his success and perseverance to excellence is evident through his career including time spent at the helm of Starcraft and Crestliner, a 17-year reign at Wellcraft Marine and 23 years as owner/CEO of internationally recognized JRL Ventures Inc. / Marine Concepts.
A long-time NMMA member, Long assisted in its formation in 1979 and sat on its board for six years.
Long will be recognized and awarded the 2015 Hall of Fame Award at IBEX (International Boatbuilders Exhibition and Conference), Tuesday, Sept. 15, in Louisville, Kentucky. Visit www.ibexshow.com.
