Call put out to artists for ‘Dancing With Dolphins’ show
“Dancing With Dolphins” is a public arts project to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Cape Coral Art League. It will promote the arts and tourism for the community of Cape Coral, with all proceeds going to the Cape Coral Art League to sustain their building and programs.
Local artists will create unique designs for a fiberglass dolphin, 72 inches tall. Sponsors will provide the funding for dolphins. The league will match sponsors to artists and a plaque will be placed at the base of each sculpture to indicate the name of the sponsor, the artist and the animal’s individual name.
The statues will be placed in city approved locations throughout Cape Coral on city streets, parks, lobbies, businesses, etc. The locations will be chosen by the sponsors. A map will provide directions to each dolphin.
A Call to Artists is being issued to solicit dolphin designs. Dolphins will be placed on locations in January, 2016, kicking off the 50th Anniversary celebration for the art league; they are planned to be on display until May 2017.
A number of activities are being planned for the dolphins and the anniversary celebration.
