New home construction
soars in Southwest Florida
Aubuchon Team of Companies is experiencing a resurgence in new construction with 31 current or upcoming home starts across Southwest Florida. Company officials have reported that construction is planned or under way from Cape Coral to Marco Island, including Naples, Fort Myers, Matlacha and Pine Island.
Homes range in price from $300,000 to $2.3 million and size with living areas from 2000 to over 6000 square feet.
This rebound in the Southwest Florida construction market has been sparked by shrinking inventory of existing homes fueling a rise in new construction permits, the Aubuchon Team reports. According to Time Money, the percentage of Southwest Florida homes still on the market two months after listing for sale dropped from 64 percent in April 2014 to 47 percent in April 2015. In the last three years, the number of permits for single-family homes has doubled in Lee County, averaging only 34 permits in March 2012 to nearly 93 in March 2015.
Market trends assessed by Movoto.com shows the number of new listings for single-family homes in the beginning of January 2014 was 943, compared to only 329 in April 2015. A lower supply of resale properties increases the demand for new construction to meet the expectations of a growing market in Southwest Florida. According to Joe Sealey, director of New Home Sales for Sterling Collection and Aubuchon Homes, “Luxury homes sales are on the rise in Southwest Florida and the Aubuchon Team of Companies is well positioned to lead in the new construction boom.”
The Aubuchon Team of Companies includes Aubuchon Homes, Sterling Collection, Miloff Aubuchon Realty Group, and Evalutions by Aubuchon. This team of companies has been doing business in Southwest Florida for over 20 years, designing and building more than 450 homes, helping thousands of clients buy and sell real estate, find long term and short term rentals, design and decorate their homes. Locations in Cape Coral, Ft. Myers and Bonita Springs.
