Mosquito Joe of Cape Coral
celebrates one year in business
Mosquito Joe, a leading mosquito control treatment company serving residential and commercial customers nationwide, is celebrating its one-year anniversary in Cape Coral, spearheaded by local owners Buddy and Serife Logue.

Recently, Mosquito Joe celebrated a strong first quarter with 11 newly-opened units and 16 additional agreements to expand in 30 territories a 100 percent increase from 2014. With the brand’s ongoing initiatives, Mosquito Joe aims to surpass last year’s success by opening 66 new territories in 2015 to reach a total of 105 territories open by year’s end.
The brand currently boasts open territories in over 20 states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Texas and Virginia, to name a few. This year the brand will continue to expand into new regions across the country, including San Antonio, Chicago, Indianapolis, St. Louis and Kansas City, as well as further develop existing regions such as Dallas/Ft. The Salon Professional Academy
earns Redken Diamond status
The Salon Professional Academy Fort Myers’ campus was recently awarded Redken’s Diamond status for the second consecutive year.
This exclusive award was earned by just a dozen of cosmetology schools in the nation for the commitment to, and delivery of, Redken’s advanced education protocols and standards. This recognition can only be earned by successfully completing a rigorous examination of the Academy’s facility, systems, curriculum and staff.
The Salon Professional Academy is the only cosmetology school in Southwest Florida endorsed by Redken for excellence in education. TSPA offers both a state-of-the-art school with the curriculum and training developed with Redken for individuals interested in becoming cosmetologists, as well as a salon area offering services to the public including hair color, haircuts, manicures, pedicures and skin care.
The academy is accredited and offers financial aid for those who qualify. All services are performed by students under the direction of a licensed cosmetology educator. Full-time courses begin every four weeks. A high-school diploma or GED is required.
Salon services, including hair, skin and nail treatments, in the student salon are available Tuesdays through Thursdays, from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and range from $6 to $35.

Both spring 2015 graduates of the communication bachelor degree program at Florida Gulf Coast University, Chelsea Bear and Vanessa Fernandez recently accepted positions as communication coordinators at Pushing the Envelope Inc. Bear and Fernandez will provide a variety of public relations services for the company’s clientele, including publicity and media relations, social media strategy and management, online reputation management an demail marketing.
Bear graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communication with a concentration in public relations. She has experience working directly with Southwest Florida businesses on their communication efforts through Florida Gulf Coast University curriculum and her internship with Pushing the Envelope.
Fernandez received a bachelor’s degree in communication, in addition to a bachelor’s degree in philosophy with minors in digital media design and critical theory.

Larry and David Miller earn 2015 President’s Award
