2 min read

Local authors JD Daniels and Diane O’Key will make separate appearances this month at CW?Fudge Factory on Pine Island.

Daniels will read from her recently published book, “Minute of Darkness & Eighteen Flash Fiction Stories,” Thursday, Feb. 19, from 7-8 p.m.

The book contains a novella set in Turkey during a time of civil unrest and 18 of her previously published flash fiction stories.

She will also talk about and read excerpts from the second Jessie Murphy Mystery set in Matlacha and Pine Island, “Quickwalker,” slated to debut this spring with a launch party at Bert’s Pine Bay Gallery and a reading again at the CW Fudge Factory. The days and times for those events will be announced.

O’Key will then be featured at a book signing at CW Fudge Factory Friday, Feb. 27, from 6-8 p.m.

The book-signing is a fund-raiser and will benefit Wounded Warrior Anglers.

“I’ve always supported the veterans,” O’Key said. “This is a great opportunity to support them on a local level. I will be donating the royalties from both of my books to the Wounded Warrior Anglers.”

There will also be gift baskets, gift bags and a raffle where all proceeds will be donated to Wounded Warrior Anglers.

CW Fudge Factory is at 4548 Pine Island Road in Matlacha. Hours at the business are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Sunday. For additional information, call 239-283-9911.
