Cape Harbour to host monthly Yappy Hours
The Gulf Coast Humane Society is jump-starting the New Year with an all-new Yappy Hour in Cape Coral. Fathoms Restaurant and Bar with The French Press, a European-style bakery caf, will be hosting Yappy Hour the last Saturday of each month for the entire year. The first of these monthly events will begin on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 6-8 p.m.
“We are thrilled to have this opportunity to partner with Cape Harbour, Fathoms Restaurant and all the other participates who will be a part of the monthly Yappy Hour,” said Jennifer Galloway, Executive Director for GCHS. “We are excited about the venue and the opportunity to share our mission and expansion into Cape Coral.”
The event will have a Valentine’s Day theme, allowing participants several photo opportunities with their loving pets.
Fathoms Restaurant and Bar will be providing beer and wine for the event, along with a DJ for entertainment. Proceeds from beverage sales during the evening will benefit GCHS.
Cape Harbour’s Fetch Dog Boutique & Bakery will also be joining in on the Yappy Hour fun by donating a percentage of their sales for the evening to GCHS.
The Gulf Coast Humane Society, located at 2010 Arcadia Street in Fort Myers, was established as the first non-profit animal welfare organization in southwest Florida in 1947.
The 501(c)(3) mission is to rescue, provide safe refuge and compassionate care, and find forever homes for abandoned and neglected animals in the area. GCHS only takes in owner surrendered and transfers from other shelters and rescue groups with a high success rate of adoptions. Their veterinary clinic is open to the public and offers a full array of affordable services six days a week.
