Del Prado Diner now open
The Del Prado Diner has opened at 229 Del Prado Blvd., in Cape Coral. Open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., the family friendly restaurant features a range of breakfast and lunch menu items “prepared from scratch,” according to owner Dan Snow, who also describes the business as “affordable” with a “pleasant atmosphere.”

Heart & South Cafe
opens on Del Prado Boulevard
The Heart & Soul Cafe has opened at 1722 Del Prado Blvd., in Cape Coral. Owned by Theresa and Rob Hart, the restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
The owners say, “Our cafe is the product of our loved and passion for great food made from local, fresh ingredients. That’s why you will not find ‘pre-packaged’ ‘ready-to-eat’ food here.”
Breakfast fare ranges from omelets, waffles, pancakes, french toast, eggs, biscuits and more. Lunch items include soups, salads, burgers, wraps, sandwiches plus Heart & Soul Southern Classics like shrimp & grits, chicken & waffles and southern fried green tomatoes. There’s also a kids menu.

The Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Roto-Tech Plumbing Wednesday, Dec. 17, to celebrate its expansion into Bonita Springs at 27180 Bay Landing Drive #5, Bonita Springs.
Owner John Depew has been servicing Lee County for the past three years operating out of Cape Coral. He is certified in every aspect of plumbing from fixing faulty water flow and sewer cleaning to configuring medical gas pipelines through buildings.

Harley-Davidson plan busy January
Six Bends and Six Bends Harley-Davidson are not slowing down in the new year, with plans to continue hosting an assortment of events throughout the year.
On Friday, Jan. 2, Six Bends will host a Cruise-In Friday to enjoy music by the sound machine, food vendors, beverages and fun from 5-8 p.m. All types of cars are welcome to cruise-in and be a part of the display. Cruise-In Fridays will continue every Friday throughout the month.
Corvettes on the Gulf will present the 10th Annual Corvette and Open Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show at Six Bends on Sunday, Jan. 4.
Next, the annual Six Bends Chili Cook Off will be held Saturday, Jan. 31. The festivities will begin at 11 a.m. Anyone can enter, and guests will have a chance to taste it all and determine the winner! The spiciest chili entries will be on outside at The Pit, while the remainder will be set up within the Six Bends Harley-Davidson. The event will last until 2 p.m. and is appropriate for all ages. To register your chili in the cook off, contact Hospitality at 239-275-4647 by Jan. 30.
There is a $10 registration fee (to benefit Scott Fischer Charities) and only a limited amount of entries will be allowed.

Schwinn’s article on overtime
compensation published
An article on overtime compensation authored by Pavese Law Firm partner Christina Harris Schwinn has been published in the Northeastern University Law Journal. The article was adopted from Schwinn’s thesis for the Employment Law LL. M. Program at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School.
The article titled, “Half-Time or Time and One-Half? Recent Developments Deprive Employees of their Rightful Overtime Compensation Under the Fair Labor Standards Act,” discusses the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit’s decision in Urnikis-Negro v. American Family Property Services, et al., 616 F.3d 665 (7th Cir. 2010); cert. denied, 131 S.Ct. 1484 (Feb. 22, 2011).
The case involved the payment of overtime compensation based upon half-time to the plaintiff essentially retroactive in an exempt misclassification case under the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, 29 U.S.C.

Florida SBDC to host
inaugural 2015 CEO Law Forum
The Florida Small Busi-ness Development Centerat Florida Gulf Coast University will host its inaugural 2015 CEO Law Forum on Saturday, March 21, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the FGCU Cohen Center Ballroom.
