Shop Small Saturday on Matlacha Island Nov. 29
Matlacha, Florida’s little fishing village, will be taking part in national campaign to attract Holiday shoppers to this tiny island destination in the Sunshine State.
The national campaign, Shop Small Saturday, will be held Saturday, Nov. 29, and the island’s small shops will welcome shoppers with open arms.
Matlacha’s shops are housed in shacks and bungalows fishermen used to call home. Much of what shoppers will find in Matlacha’s shops is handcrafted and one of a kind.
Local art and global art is featured at Bert’s Pine Bay Gallery, Tropical Treasures and Lovegrove Gallery & Gardens. Apparel and accessories can be found at Net Shops USA, Footprints in the Sand and Frills and don’t miss Spa 33 for that special something for the women on your list.
Of course, what is Christmas without sweet treats, so a stop at CW Fudge Factory has to be a must.
Many local artisans are represented in each one of these shops.
The Matlacha Island Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to promote Matlacha Island as a destination for shopping, business, ecotourism, fishing and the arts district, and to foster and maintain the favorable relationship with local government, community groups and local residents while preserving the unique and artistic qualities of the historic fishing village of Matlacha Island throughout the business community.
