Komen in the battle against breast cancer, raising over $700. According to Susan Murphy, froint row, center, owner of Hair FX Studio and a breast cancer survivor, a hundred people turned out for the event at the studio, located at 3812 Skyline Blvd., #E. Activities with a number of specials were held inside and outside the salon. Among all those who helped put on the event, including her staff, pictured here, Murphy thanked Lil Caesars, which donated pizzas, and DayGlo Signs and Daniel Paul, for help setting up and for providing signage.

for Holiday for Heroes

Island Decor and More in Matlacha has joined forces with Sip and Send of Cape Coral to help our service members in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Send and Sip, at 2517 Santa Barbara Blvd, Cape Coral, has been organizing the effort for the past 8 years.

Those wishing to make donations for our heroes have several options: fill a box, donate items or donate postage

Supply lists include: snacks, drinks, toiletries, and more.

Gifts must be in by Nov. 15 so we have time to get these to our heroes.

IBERIABANK to host Southwest Florida Military Museum & Library

Keller & Koczara CPAs is hosting a free Shredding Event and Open House Saturday, Nov. 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Run Agrounds closes,

to reopen as French Press

The Run Agrounds coffee shop at Cape Harbour closed Nov. 6, and will reopen Tuesday, Nov. 11, as a new European-style coffee cafe under the supervision of Chef Benjamin Voisin of neighboring Fathoms Restaurant & Bar.

The French Press will offer world-class gourmet coffee. Enjoy light, fresh fare and take in the beautiful surroundings at Cape Harbour, Southwest Florida’s only waterfront shopping destination with award-winning art galleries, a luxury spa and salon and extraordinary boutiques.

Breakfast and lunch will be served, including homemade crepes, pastry, salads and baguette sandwiches. Visitors can enjoy a gelato and stroll over to Fathoms for some live music.

The remodel that will occur over the few days the cafe is closed include improvements and updates to the display and counter areas, and a general refresh similar to the one Fathoms underwent in September. Additional seating will also be available in the new French Press, making it a great place to hang out.

The French Press is the second Southwest Florida venture for international hospitality company Hoffman Group Holdings LLC since it acquired The Joint, which recently reopened as Fathoms.

The company has its sights set on expanding into Fort Myers in 2015.

WGET Around Downtown Transport opens

in South Cape

Cape Coral’s newest business venture, White Glove Executive Transport, has introduced WGET Around Downtown Transport. This new business venture is reportedly supported by entertainment and restaurant venues in Cape Coral including Backstreet’s Bar and Grill, Lobster Lady, RE/MAX Trend, Club Fletcher’s and Dixie Roadhouse.

WGET Around Downtown’s ribbon cutting and public reveal took place Thursday, at the new office, 909 S.E. 47th Terrace in Cape Coral. The company features a new 2015 Mercedes Benz transport Sprinter van that carries up to 12 people. For a nominal fee, this new business venture is designed to transport people throughout the south Cape while they enjoy a safe, comfortable and reliable ride.

The company is owned by Luiz and Karen Dias are long-time residents of Cape Coral. Luiz went to school in Cape Coral before earning his bachelor of science in Business Administration Human Resource Management at Columbia Southern University. He served multiple tours as a member of the US Coast Guard and continues his service with the US Coast Guard today. He returned to

Cape Coral and joined the Cape Coral Police Department before following his dream in 2013, White Glove Executive Transport. WGET has grown from a one car business to a multi car operation in just 10 months.

Fitness expands

Around the Clock Fitness has just added a new location – 1000 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte. The center’s three other locations are 1140 Ceitus Terrace in Cape Coral, and 1755 Boy Scout Drive and 9375 Ben C. Pratt/Six Mile Cypress Parkway in Fort Myers.

Thomas named CONRIC’s new marketing assistant

Rib City breaks ground on Daniels Corridor location

Rib City is breaking ground on what will be its 13th corporate location in Florida. The new Rib City Daniels will be located at 6830 Shoppes at Plantation Drive in Fort Myers. The new location will encompass 3,000 square feet and is expected to be completed by late spring 2015.
