Juniper Village obtains

Limited Nursing Service Licensure

The State of Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration recently granted Juniper Village at Cape Coral a Limited Nursing Service Licensure. This allows Juniper Village to provide more nursing duties that a standard licensure that it had previously held.

Juniper Village at Cape Coral is an assisted living community that can accommodate up to 100 residents per its licensure.

A survey – state inspection – conducted in March showed Juniper Village to be basically deficiency free, explained Brenda Ortiz, the executive director of the facility.

With the guidance of an AHCA supervisor, Juniper Village applied for the licensure and was granted the Limited Nursing Services Licensure level effective July 18, 2014.

Park Royal Behavioral Hospital

to hold Job Fair this weekend

Park Royal Hospital will host a two-day Job Fair today, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Opened in 2012, Park Royal Behavioral Health Services and Hospital is one of Southwest Florida’s premier mental health and substance abuse treatment facilities, according to Lynn Schneider, director of community relations for the organization.

“Park Royal is expanding and several new health care positions are available,” said Schneider. There are positions open for Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Addiction Counselors, Mental Health Technicians, and Certified Nursing Assistants. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Interested applicants should bring a resume and can complete an application at the job fair. Qualified candidates will be interviewed on the spot.

The event will be held in the Learning Center at Park Royal Hospital, which is located at 9241 Park Royal Drive in Fort Myers, located near HealthPark off Summerlin Road.

Elliott wins Florida Pastry

Challenge gold medal

For the second year in a row, Pastry Chef Denise Elliott, with Norman Love Confections, has won the Florida Pastry Challenge gold medal at the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Show’s American Culinary Federation Culinary Arts Competition in Orlando.

Elliott was honored with the award for her chocolate centerpiece based on this year’s theme, “Florida’s Farm to Table.”

Norman Love Confections creates and distributes handcrafted artisanal chocolates from the Fort Myers corporate headquarters that encompasses both production and retail operations. The Fort Myers and Naples chocolate salons are stylish retail shops with an intimate ambience in which customers may purchase chocolates or linger over house-made pastries, gourmet coffees, lattes and smoothies.

Jonsson earns APR designation

Deborah Jonsson, APR, of the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association and Gulf Coast Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America recently earned professional public relations accreditation, and received the designation of Accredited in Public Relations.

Jonsson joins the more than 4,300 active public relations professionals worldwide who represent an elite group of highly skilled professionals committed to practicing with exemplary ethical standards, including 32 in Southwest Florida.

Jonsson is the public relations manager at Avow, a nonprofit organization serving Collier County residents suffering from serious and terminal illness and loss.

To earn accreditation, candidates must pass an oral presentation and rigorous written examination administered by the Universal Accreditation Board, which is an alliance of eight national and statewide professional associations dedicated to furthering the field of public relations and the development of public relations professionals.
