Howl-o-ween goes to the hounds
at Fleamasters Fleamarket Oct. 26
A costume contest for dogs (and their humans) will be held Sunday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m., at Fleamasters Fleamarket Music Hall Stage.
“Dress up and enter your dog!” invites Linda Steele, Fleamasters’ marketing director. “You don’t have to have a hound, or a purebred. Any dog can be a winner. Whether spooky, funny or a mix of styles, this contest is your pup’s chance to strut their stuff.”
Earn bonus points: Dog owners can add to the fun by dressing themselves up, as well.
If you plan to enter your dog, be sure their vaccinations are current. All dogs must be on a leash or carried or otherwise in control of owner at all times, and dog owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pet. Prizes will be awarded for the funniest, scariest and best overall, plus best human/dog costume combo.
All registered dogs will receive a free dog bandana. The grand prize winner will be awarded a rosette ribbon and prize basket, including a $100 Fleamasters shopping spree. Other winners will also receive prize baskets and ribbons.
Most importantly, proceeds from Howl-o-ween Hounds will benefit the Gulf Coast Humane Society, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, no-kill, animal welfare organization.
Howl-o-ween Hounds is part of a Halloween celebration weekend at Fleamasters Oct. 25-26. Saturday and Sunday, boys and girls 14 and under may receive a free trick-or-treat bag (with a treat inside), while supplies last.
Fleamasters Fleamarket is open for shopping 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The market offers over 500, unique, owner-operated stores, 20 snack bars and more. Get more information about Fleamasters Fleamarket and October events on the market’s website, fleamall.com.
