Attorney and Mediator Keith Grossman, founder and managing partner of Grossman Law & Conflict Management, has announced that Melody Porter has joined the firm as its newest associate attorney.
A Fort Myers native, Porter returns to Southwest Florida to begin her legal career. She is a 2010 graduate of Florida State University and attended the University of Miami School of Law, where she graduated in 2013.

Sports enthusiasts and outdoorsmen will enjoy the return of the BB&T-Oswald Trippe and Company Surf & Turf Experience Oct. 17-19, 2014 at South Seas Island Resort on Captiva Island, Florida.
Proceeds from the event will help support the mission of Disabled Veterans Insurance Careers Inc. to educate, train and create meaningful employment opportunities within the insurance industry for disabled veterans.
The second annual event is a three-day, two-night sportsman’s weekend consisting of individual competitors on teams of three. The competition includes fishing and golfing components. Teams will fish with a licensed charter captain from South Seas Island Resort marina and explore the back waters of Southwest Florida and the Gulf of Mexico. After fishing, guests will proceed to South Seas Island Resort to compete in the second element of the competition; the same teams will play eighteen holes of golf overlooking Redfish Pass.
The $1,500 entry fee provides each participant with two-night accommodations at South Seas Island Resort, including the Friday cocktail party, gourmet dinner and casino night; Saturday breakfast, fishing, lunch, golf, cocktail reception, dinner, auction and awards; and Sunday breakfast. In addition, every player will receive custom, limited edition apparel and a special commemorative gift.

than $16,000 for March of Dimes
Tom Ray, CEO of Encore Bank, has announced that the bank recently raised $16,500 for the March of Dimes of Southwest Florida.
Teams from each branch hosted independent fundraising events, and Encore Bank employees participated in the March for Babies in Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties on April 26, 2014.
The March of Dimes helps women have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies. If something goes wrong during a pregnancy, they offer information and comfort to those families. Lastly they research the problems that threaten babies and work on preventing them.
Since its inception in 1970 the March for Babies has raised more than $2 billion.
