Tan Control expanding

At Tan Control, a tanning salon launched three years ago in Camelot Isles Shopping Center, there’s not only a new look but six new tanning beds.

Co-owners Janet Norris and Jennifer Arocha have redone the tanning rooms at Tan Control with new hardwood floors and all new beds. Now, with eight rooms in all, the salon offers clients the choice of an eight-minute Super Cyclone standup booth in addition to six new beds.

The new tanning units consist of two 13-minute beds, two 15-minute beds and two 20-minute beds. Tan Control also features a full range of top-of-the-line tanning products along with a line of handmade specialty jewelry.

To introduce their new beds and new look, this month the salon is featuring a special tanning package. With the purchase of five tanning sessions, clients will receive five free sessions.

The introductory offer is open to our existing customers as well as new clients.

Tan Control is located at 1616 Cape Coral Parkway near Publix. The salon is open six days a week, Monday through Friday, 9:30 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 5 p.m.

Envy Salon seeks spokesmodels

Envy Salon is holding its first Ms. Envy Salon 2010 SpokesModel Competition on Dec.11 at the Pearl Lounge from 8 to 10 p.m. Judges from various businesses around Cape Coral will be choosing 10 ladies for 2010 to represent the salon as goodwill ambassadors at charity and networking events. From the 10 finalists, judges will be selecting a brunette, a blonde, and a redhead as well as a senior ambassador as next year’s spokesmodels. The top three winners will receive a one year modeling contract with SWFL Modeling and Talent Agency, a one year membership at Anytime Fitness and one year of unlimited hair care services at Envy Salon. Harley-Davidson/Buell of Fort Myers and Naples Harley-Davidson are getting into seasonal festivities and hosting a Black and Orange Holiday. Both locations will feature Black Friday door buster sales starting at 6 a.m. with the first 100 customers getting a free $25 Harley-Davidson gift card.

Running from Friday, Nov. 27 through Christmas Eve. The store will stock a huge selection of gifts under $25, offer $75 in stock leather jackets and chaps and up to 80 percent off in-stock select chrome, accessories and merchandise and free gift-wrapping.

On Saturday, Dec. 19 and Sunday, Dec. 20 all guests will also have a chance to have their photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Builders Care miniature golf tournament raises more than $2,000

Builders Care, the not for profit arm of the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA), hosted its first miniature golf tournament on Nov. 10 to raise funds to help local homeowners in need. BIA members, volunteers and community residents totaling nearly 30 teams and more than 100 players came out to play 18 holes of miniature golf for a family night out of fun at Castle Golf in Fort Myers. As an added bonus, players received golf tips from The Golf Doctor, Mike Calbot. Calbot is the director of instruction at Old Corkscrew Golf Club and formerly provided weekly golf tips on WINK-TV news.

The tournament included construction-themed specialty holes like putting with a paint roller and teams competed for prizes like golf balls, golf attire and more. Tournament trophy winners included first place team Armadillo Underground, second place team Hill Barth and King and third place team Speath Engineering.

The Mini Golf Tournament was sponsored by the Lee BIA, Wayne Wiles Floor Coverings, Cape Coral Plumbing and Paul Homes. Proceeds from the event totaled more than $2,000. All proceeds will help Builders Care provide emergency construction services to elderly and disabled Lee County homeowners in need.
