Goldberg elected to SWFAS board
Fort Myers Attorney and Cape Coral resident Scot D. Goldberg has been elected to the Board of Directors of Southwest Florida Addiction Services (SWFAS).
Goldberg is the founding partner of the law firm of Goldberg, Racila, D’Alessandro & Noone, LLC, where he practices personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice and criminal law. Prior to that, he was an associate attorney with the law firm of Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice & Purtz, P.A.. He also served as an assistant state attorney with the State Attorney’s Office, 20th Judicial Circuit.
Goldberg is a 15-year resident of Cape Coral and graduated from Cape Coral High School in 1985. He went on to the University of South Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminology and received his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Mich.
Goldberg also serves on the boards of directors of Quality of Life Center, Deaf Service Center and NAACP, Southwest Florida Chapter, and is a volunteer driver for Meals On Wheels. In addition, he is a certified guardian ad litem and attorney ad litem for the Guardian Ad Litem program.
SWFAS is Southwest Flori-da’s most comprehensive substance abuse treatment and prevention program, operating from five offices throughout Lee and Hendry counties. Since 1980, SWFAS has helped more than 70,000 residents in Lee, Glades and Hendry counties rebuild their lives.
SWFAS offers treatment services at all levels of intensity including residential, outpatient counseling, and group therapy. In addition, SWFAS provides detoxification services for adults, prevention programming for all ages, and an Employee Assistance Program for about 60 Southwest Florida businesses. SWFAS is a United Way agency.
