Languell re-elected as FGBC president

Fort Myers businesswoman Dr. Jennifer Languell has been elected to serve a second term as president of the Florida Green Building Coalition. Languell is the founder and president of Trifecta Construction Solutions, a consulting firm that specializes in green building and helping businesses capitalize on the growing consumer demand for more sustainable goods and services.
The Florida Green Building Coalition, the state’s largest non-profit green building organization, is dedicated to improving the state’s built environment. Dr. Languell said that she was honored to be re-elected by the group’s membership and emphasized the importance of expanding FGBC’s reach across the state during her next term.
“We will continue to reach out and help both residential and commercial builders, developers, and local and county governments move toward more sustainable building and management practices,” she said. “Consumer demand for green products and services is growing at a dramatic rate and our organization helps its members understand and capitalize on this growth,” she added.
Languell said that FGBC has certified as green more than 2,000 homes across Florida, as well as almost a dozen green developments and an equal number of local government, demonstrating that more and more people are recognizing the benefits of building and managing in a more sustainable manner.
Dr. Languell also serves on the National Governors Association Policy Academy on Advanced Energy Strategies for Buildings, and was recently named recipient of the Urban Land Institute of Southwest Florida’s prestigious Pathfinder Award, symbolic of environmental leadership.
