Comcast hiring 50 employees
Comcast, a leading cable and broadband communications provider, is hiring 50 new employees in the greater Southwest Florida area in order to meet the increasing customer demand for the company’s latest digital and high definition (HD) video, high speed Internet and voice products. Physicians’ Primary Care Physicians among top doctors
Two gynecologists with Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida have been named among the “Best Doctors in America” for 2009 by Castle Connolly Medical in New York.
Heather Auld, M.D., and Mary Yankaskas, M.D., were nominated for the prestigious honor by other doctors. Both physicians also were included in the 2006 and 2008 lists as well.
Selections are made through a national survey of physicians and hospital administrators conducted by Castle Connolly Medical, an independent research and information company. After the votes are tallied, Castle Connolly ensures that the physicians meet the company’s criteria, which include board certification, years of experience in their specialties and a clean disciplinary record.
Dr. Auld practices at both the Fort Myers OB/GYN office at 9021 Park Royal Drive, and in the Lehigh Acres office at 3507 Lee Blvd. Dr. Yankaskas practices at both the Fort Myers OB/GYN office and the Cape Coral office at 1265 Viscaya Parkway.
Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida, a physician-owned and operated medical practice, was formed in 1996 by many long practicing local physicians and has grown to become the largest independent multi-specialty practice in Southwest Florida with more than 45 medical professionals.

European Business Council expanding
The European Business Council has expanded its international activities by opening offices in Austria and Switzerland. Volunteers who are linked to Southwest Florida manage the offices. Since January the EBC has observed increasing interests of investors and real estate acquirers in Southwest Florida from these countries. The EBC is seeking to inform this European target group about Southwest Florida from offices based in those countries.
In a promotional tour in 2009 specialists of the EBC informed real estate acquirers, business owners and investors in Austria, Switzerland and Germany about the basic procedure of immigration, building business contacts and acquisition of real estates.
Informative meetings take place in the following cities: in Germany – Munich, Erfurt, Berlin, Hamburg and Duisburg.; in Austria – Kufstein; and in Switzerland – Zug.

Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida announces new HR certification
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida (CAC) is proud to announce Wendy Dill, Executive Assistant to Jill Turner, CEO is now a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
Offered by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), certified PHRs must complete coursework including strategic management, workforce planning and development, labor relations, risk management, total rewards and human resource development.
