Reed named chair of FICPA construction conference
John Reed was named chair of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Construction Industry Conference Committee. As chair of the committee for 2008-2010, John will direct the committee that plans and administers the annual construction industry conference, to be held on Oct. 23, 2009 and Oct. 22, 2010 in Orlando.
“The conference is designed to provide the building blocks of knowledge relevant to both public practitioners and financial executives of construction companies,” states Reed, a LarsonAllen construction and real estate principal. “I am excited to be spearheading this conference.”
Conference presenters will include some of the nation’s leading construction industry experts. They will present on issues such as construction company valuation, fraud concerns, lien laws, professional liability, and more. Interested participants may sign up through the FICPA Web site. John is also a member of the FICPA editorial committee, which oversees all technical articles in Florida CPA Today Magazine and the FICPA Industry section steering committee, which has a listserve where members can post topics on construction industry issues.
John Reed is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning (CSEP), a Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP), and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He received his Master’s Degree in Accounting from Nova University and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland.
