Businesses host ‘Girls Night Out’

3 min read

A group of Cape Coral businesswomen have joined forces to refute the myth that the wheels of commerce stop turning in Cape Coral in the off season, while helping raise money for a local charity.

Their businesses will be featured during the “Ultimate Midsummer Girls’ Night Out” on July 15 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Time To Make Wine located at 912 S.E. 46th Lane. Advance tickets for the event are only $10 and $15 at the door. All tickets can be purchased through the participating businesses but availability is limited. All guests will receive a Diva Goody Bag at the door and are eligible for prize drawings every half hour. Chinese Auction tickets may be purchased for only 50 cents for additional prizes and a chance to win the Ultimate Diva Basket.

Businesses sponsoring the event will offer prizes and entertainment and ticket proceeds will be donated to Cape Coral Bootstrap Ministries, a local program feeding families struggling with hunger and housing issues. Two fashion shows will take place at 6:30 p.m. and every half hour following will feature new designs.

Participants will offer prizes and special discount offers at their tables throughout the event areas in the wine shop. Complimentary food and wine tastings will provided in addition to free chair massages, facials, foot detox, hair and makeup makeovers, feng shui and interior design consults, designer jewelry, mini manicures and pedicures, fitness advice and acrylic painting demonstrations.

Co-organizer Annette Watkins, owner of Brushes and Bottles, said the event was conceived as a way to demonstrate that Cape businesses are alive and well regardless of the time of year.

“We wanted to find a way to dispel the conception that everything shuts down out of season here in Southwest Florida and pitch-in to help a worthy cause. There is strength in numbers and we can make a difference if we work together,” she said.

Businesswomen taking part in the “Ultimate Midsummer Girls’ Night Out” include CeCe Simon of Massage Therapy Center, Sandy Zahorchak of Time To Make Wine, Annette Watkins of Brushes and Bottles, Danielle Emery of Ameriprise, Ann Cassidy, a local jeweler, Rita Reiland of Bumble Bee Florist, Stephanie Hough of Chi-To-Go, Debbie Schultz of Curves, Raquel Krug of Diva 2 Diva Consignments, Marianne Kmetz of Puttin On The Glitz, Susan Kester of Raine Interiors, Cathy Sangiovanni of Razzle Dazzle and Patti Fire of Salon @ Club Square with partners from Spa Simplicity.
