Old Corkscrew listed in Zagat
Old Corkscrew has been listed as the only Fort Myers golf course in the recent release of America’s Top Golf Courses Guide Book. The publication, now in its 6th edition, is produced and distributed by Zagat Publications, based on a consumer survey of avid golfers. In addition, Old Corkscrew is among the “Noteworthy Newcomers” special listing in the guide.
The annual publication includes comparative ratings and reviews of golf courses, facilities, service and value, and price per round. Old Corkscrew, which opened in February 2007, received ratings higher than more mature courses across the nation. Reviews in the guide cited Old Corkscrew as “Probably the best course in the Fort Myers regiondefinitely worth the drive.”
This is Old Corkscrew’s first appearance in the guide, and according to Mark Iwinski, manager of golf operations for Old Corkscrew Golf Club, “This listing, with the high ratings and reviews, reinforces the quality reputation of the course and club. It’s rewarding for members and staff to see Old Corkscrew listed and rated among the top facilities in the nation.”
America’s Top Golf Courses includes ratings and reviews of public, semi-private and resort courses, as well as driving ranges and leading private courses in the United States, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. It’s based entirely on the experiences of 6,054 golfers who average more than 8 rounds of golf per month. Like similar consumer-based guides produced by Zagat, like dining, entertainment and hotels, the publication is intended to help golfers select courses and facilities to meet their individual needs. The guide is available in major bookstores as well as online.
