Lofton named Director of Construction and Inspection Team at Johnson Engineering

Johnson Engineering has named James “Vee” Lofton Jr., as director of its construction engineering & inspection (CEI) team.

Vee joined Johnson Engineering in January 2008 as a transportation CEI project administrator and has more than 20 years of experience in roadway and bridge construction, project administration, and inspection in both traditional design-bid-build and design-build projects.

Vee’s extensive experience also includes interstate highways and major bridges, pile driving, earthwork, sub grade and base construction, asphalt paving, drainage items, and all types of utilities and related relocations.

He specializes in document control for both quality assurance, quality control testing and is well versed with the FDOT requirements for verification testing and document control.

His previous experience as a consultant program manager with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) gives him a unique perspective of the bidding process, construction techniques utilized, as well as an understanding of the maintaining agency’s needs after construction has been completed.
